Happy 2017 everyone! My name is Jaron, and I like working with electronic (and acoustic!) instruments and devices to conjure up a feeling of time and place. Evocative songs and sounds are what I strive for.
During 50/90 last year, I made some neat personal discoveries, but I also burnt out after only a month. I think this was due to too much editing on the computer, so this year I'm going to try and stay away from structuring songs that way. I finally have a way to mix and record audio directly into videos on my phone, and it's been a rewarding creative process. Throughout June I worked on the strange, monochromatic musical fiction of mothsound. I hope to continue this throughout 50/90, if the motivation and ideas are there.
Once again I'm hoping for long-term creative energy, rather than quantity.
Do you also make music with hardware synthesizers? Let me know; I'm still searching for a little pocket of the community here where I fit in!
