3 music degrees; 53 years as flutist; Suzuki to university teacher; now a ukulele player and loving it; added guitar 12/20; I've always read poetry/sometimes it floods out; in 2019 wrote 51 songs-good, bad, really bad, short or long/posted none/they sit in my 2 notebooks. Two of the good ones: #25 The Ballad of Wild Hairy about the tarantula migration in southeastern CO;#32 The Magical Wizard, who showed up in a tux/out of his magical bag pops the entire cast & musicians of the Nutcracker Ballet;others about my cats, sciatica, medicare, Lucile's, Clouds (early memory loss), limericks, lullabies, experiments with scales/intervals/keys, Lesson Song, Rain Poured Down, CO Cold, colors, Spot, Flying Fishie, Witches Sabbath, gun violence, Curses of the 50/90; my head went to mush; I started quoting myself; songs got shorter as I ran out of time. It's an opportunity for creative brilliance. It starts as words, melody or chords. I have no idea where it comes from. It's sparked by whatever is going on in my life. Maybe noticing/awareness. Our cats' Vet even went south to see the spiders! You really should hear Wild Hairy...
