Candle is something that needs to be experienced.
The music of Candle has been described as Progressive, Psychadelic, Space Rock, and even Experimental. But what Darby, the artist behind the sounds, is really trying to achieve is a connection with every listener. To make those who choose to listen to his music feel something deep within themselves. Something they might not have ever felt before. Or maybe some memory they cherish deeply. The frequencies and moods created with a single guitar are layered in order to paint vistas which hopefully will let the sensations & imaginations of the listeners rejoice in the experience and become an interactive part of the music itself.
So close your eyes, take a deep breath & relax. Let the music touch your soul.
This will be my second 50/90 (I know, I avoided this marathon for years!). Last year I did 100 songs. I'd be surprised if I get that far this year, but we'll see what the Muse has in store for me. Got a new laptop & rebuilt my Jeskola Buzz "Live" project from the ground up. The routing is a lot more complex this time around (compared to what I had in the past) & I'm still getting used to the workflow of this new setup. So yeah, 50/90 will be another year of "getting used to the new setup" & "experimenting with its creative possibilities/limits". Also, I did my first skirmish during FAWM this year (I know, I've really been missing out of stuff over the past 10+ years), so I expect I'll dabble some more in that area of the challenge/community. But as always, the Muse will guide me. She's never let me down.
One final thing: (WARNING: SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION):
I have released my latest album, Catharsis, which contains tracks that were improvised & recorded during FAWM 2021. The album is available for download from my bandcamp site: https://candle.bandcamp.com/album/catharsis It includes a whole bundle of extras, including the latest editions of the "Candle's Collectable Post Card" series. I have also released a Single for "Before The Rain" with non-album B-Sides and some other collectable goodies. There's also a music video that was released with the Single that can be viewed on the Before The Rain bandcamp page: https://candle.bandcamp.com/album/before-the-rain-single
I am also trying to get my automated online shop working for CD distrubution but have run into some snags that I'm hoping will be ironed out shortly. Until then you'll see a "SOLD OUT" sign on the Catharsis bandcamp page. Once I get things sorted out, the CD DigiPack should be available again.
Let's get "Ready to rok"! (The infamous Jeskola Buzz status bar slogan going back to the late '90's )
