Boating In A Tin Can
Post date:
Liner Notes:
I decided to have a go at the interpolation challenge by taking the 'Here I am, floating in a tin can' line from David Bowie's Space Oddity song, and giving it a bit of a twist
Lyrics:
Boating In A Tin Can
(Verse 1)
Here I am, boating in a tin can
I’m a tiny ant
Don’t knock boating in a tin can
You should try it but you can’t
(Chorus)
It’s cool being small
Really really small
If I fall over
I haven’t far to fall
(Verse 2)
Here I am, gloating in a tin can
I’m a gloaty ant
I won’t stop gloating in a tin can
You should try it but you can’t
(Chorus)
It’s cool being small
Really really small
It’s easy to escape
From a bar room brawl
(Verse 3)
Here I am, boating in a tin can
I’m a tiny ant
Don’t knock boating in a tin can
You should try it but you can’t
(Chorus)
It’s cool being small
Really really small
A few drops of glucose
Is a big big haul
(Outro – spoken)
Ooh, I think I’ve got a sugar high

Last three lines are my favorite. I enjoy the humorous take on Bowie’s song.
Very clever writing. I like 'gloating in a tin can' Good work
