I decided to play about with the saying 'The early bird catches the worm' and I quite like the story that emerged

Lyrics:

The Late Worm And The Early Bird

(Verse 1)
The late worm avoids the early bird
Is a truth that’s rarely said
But it’s a wisdom that grants reason
To not get out of bed

(Chorus)
If you go seeking adventure
Bad things may stalk you
Staying under the duvet
Ain’t the worst thing you could do

(Verse 2)
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush
It’s that early bird again
Had to go looking for wriggling snacks
Should have stayed in the nest with his friends

(Chorus)
If you go sneaking just at dawn
Bad things may stalk you
Staying under the duvet
Ain’t the worst thing you could do

(Bridge)
The early worms’ friends say Rest In Peace
At a candle-lit memorial
The early bird’s in a bad bad place
When he should be arboreal

(Chorus)
If you go seeking adventure
Bad things may stalk you
Staying under the duvet
Ain’t the worst thing you could do

(Chorus)
If you go seeking adventure
Bad things may stalk you
Staying under the duvet
Ain’t the worst thing you could do

Ha ha sounds like you are thumbing your nose at the early birds! I'm with you on that - they suck for making the rest of us sensible people look late. Some of my best creations come from staying under the duvet in the A.M.

This is fabulous! Really cracked me up, yeah I'm a late worm, or just super early depending on how you look at it. I tend to keep an odd schedule. 50/90 over, but would still love to put this to some music, unless you already have something in mind.

Hey LyricSlinger, - yes great lyric. I can only guess when reading "new" folks, so to speak work or listening. And, I subscribe to no "methods", but fully aware of them all. In this, I read the "Bridge" as part of a "form" writing method (?). Some say, when engaging a bridge, - "why"? Why is there a bridge there, what's it made of and where does it go when on the other side. So, some, they just build them, and land on the other side, but like the "Twilight Zone" ? Smile are back where they started. So, that's the analogy and explains how I see it, - if at all interested, and may well not be Wink that's okay! Ignore it then, and I understand.

However, with a "break" such as that, for a "Performer" and at a "Pinnacle" of the song, -- to perform it well, has to feel it and not proforma. What else could be addressed with it, and to where within the concept of the good story, -- keeping it all "simple" for good mind pictures for all to form on their own?

- Cheers
