Cola: After a fun collab last year, I absolutely had to get a song with metalfoot in before the summer was over! For this one, Alex wrote the lyrics, I wrote the music, and we both sang. (Alex even threw in a delightful extra layer of harmony!) I love these lyrics, and trying to write music in a medieval style was a fun challenge too.
metalfoot: Thanks so much Cola for the chance to sing with you! Bards forever!

Lyrics:
The Bard's Song
Alex Klages, Sept 6/21
The road is weary
And ever long
All I bring with me
Is my own song
And I have come to sing for you
The path is lonely
That I must tread
And often fills me
With too much dread
And I have come to sing for you
I am a bard
In the digital age
I am a troubadour
Without a written page
My calling here
To sing what I know true
My calling here
Is just to sing for you
The way is lengthy
On which I go
And where my home is
I soon will know
And I have come to sing for you
The trail is rocky
That I must climb
And often frightens
My weary mind
And I have come to sing for you
I am a bard
In the digital age
I am a troubadour
Without a written page
My calling here
To sing what I know true
My calling here
Is just to sing for you
So let my voice ring out so clear
Of love and hope that drives out fear
And let my music waft above
And maybe bring you back to love
I am a bard
In the digital age
I am a troubadour
Without a written page
My calling here
To sing what I know true
My calling here
Is just to sing for you

Really nice. The alternative listening link works for me, but the one on this page just hangs. Not sure why. Anyway, love treatment of this. Of course, the Bard reference caught me (duh!), and I'd love to sing this one!
Such a wonderful medieval duet! The music is such a wonderful complement to the lyrics. Your vocals delivery this song perfectly!
yes thus is a cool one, that folky almost medieval feel , those little musical frills nail it ! and your voices really go so well together really enjoyable,
