Insomnia strikes just in time for a superskirmish.
I debated doing anything for this as I'm supposed to be participating in spintunes but I figured either I could develop this idea into an entry or it'd get a wrong turn out of the way.

Great guitar! I like the 'black and blue' image. A very complete breakup song.

Certainly a solid 50/90 number as is, and a great song start for whatever direction it goes. Effective guitar and vocals. I love that false ending on the last line. Well done on the skirmish!

Yup…the guitar stands out here. Those little embellishments add so much texture to the song, particularly on acoustic. I’m a fan of that sort of style. Nice singing and vocal phrasing too.

Sorry for insomnia for you but happy for me that you joined the skirmish! Great hook. The concept and the delivery are fantastic. The groove is catchy with awesome guitar and the sentiment is one that is relatable and is being well developed here… that uncertainty yet understanding.

I'd say its a great start if going to keep working on this one for spintunes. Personally I really like this version, and wouldn't so much a super cleaned up one with lots of extra instrumentation/etc, as bluesy things like this lose their magic for me when over-rehearsed.................. but that's what they seemed to of wanted. I particularly love some of those tasty little guitar licks, and the fact the hook is ever repeating with some slight changeups in the last lines, such as the fact it goes from all to maybe because of....adds a sense of the bewilderment of the heartbreak.
