dzd: @kahlo wrote these amazing lyrics(during a skirmish no less) and I absolutely adored them and very much so wanted to do some music for them. Then @Anaezia was kind enough to lend her lovely vocals. @Wolf Kier was also kind enough to help me with a file as well, as I really have no idea what I'm doing when in comes to editing in a DAW, just always winging it as I go. What a lovely community right?

I'll sneaky update this with a new drum track mixed in probably tomorrow after I get some new sticks, that and it got cold last night and I need to tighten everything up things were quite literally flying apart and of the probably 100+ allen wrenches I have in here I couldn't find one that fit...... I blame that Allen guy, but I also didn't look very hard.

Lyrics:

V1
forest fallen fears
ocean opened odds
turtle treasured times
ghost given gods

river rounded rocks
sparrow scattered seeds
mountain measured myths
drug induced dreams

L
they are more than they seem..

C1
ghosts and drugs
gods and dreams
illusions magic
not what they seem
ghosts and drugs
gods and dreams
not what they seem
not what we see

V2
moonbeam mirrored minds
sunshine spoken songs
pasture painted poems
love laden longs

fire filtered faith
water wilted wants
soil sodden souls
hate heightened haunts

L
they are more than we thought…

C2
loves and hates
longs and haunts
phantoms wonders
not what we thought
loves and hates
longs and haunts
not what we thought
not what we want

B
searching the unknown
seeking truth at home
reaching for answers
hoping for one
in gods or dreams
ghosts or drugs
in love and hate
longs or haunts

C1
ghosts and drugs
gods and dreams
illusions magic
not what they seem
ghosts and drugs
gods and dreams
not what they seem
not what we see

C2
loves and hates
longs and haunts
phantoms wonders
not what we thought
loves and hates
longs and haunts
not what we thought
not what we want

Quite an epic moment the 3 of you have here. Impactful/pensive lyrics. A rather passioned vocal delivery and the audio mural that is dzd. The chorus holds true in so much that we think we have in this world...not what we thought or want. Excellent!

Wow I was not expecting this when I sent you the dry vocals. I cant believe I am in a rock song wohooo(hope I got that right). It sounds so amazingggggg. I love it.

*lift myself off the floor and raise singed eyebrows* Wow..
It's like that old meme where the cafe is on fire and there's a calm person drinking coffee says "it'll be fine".
Great lyrics, and Anaezia sings perfectly in the middle of dzd's absolute choas (in a good way) music. Something special here.

Cody and Wolf this production is a shoegaze wonder with the swirling guitars! It creates a cool atmosphere for Anaezia's stunning vocals. Always a fan of Liz's powerful lyrics. It's amazing she can write these so quickly during a skirmish! #Respect to all--well done!

Love that swirly production; reminds me a bit of the wonderful @AndyGetch.
I'm really liking how the different approaches you folks have all work together.
The lovely vocals sound great contrasted with the guitar attack.
Really nice collab here for sure.

The music really does the lyrics justice, ethereal and dark. Wonderful vocals. This is a most excellent collab!

Wow, I'm loving this. I'm no expert on kahlo's literary output, but this one seems to work a more a more allusive, mystical vein, which is perfect given the title. (I wish I'd written it.) The vocal is fantastic amidst the musical maelstrom. The whole thing is like one of the more radio-friendly Blue Oyster Cult tunes, but much weirder and cooler. Great stuff all around

Not sure how I missed seeing this. Glad I circled back. Impressive all the way around. Killer lyrics, which I can't believe were written during a skirmish. Vocal performance by Anaezia is so good. I find it somewhat humorous to read her comment above. Seems everything is a bit unpredictable with dzd involved. I mean that in the most complementary way. This is refreshing and just plain good. Excellent collaboration!
