Liner Notes:

This was a skirmish, where you have an hour, more or less, to write and record something to a prompt- in this case the prompt was 'wild thing' (and the tag for it was creatively misspelled for some reason..)

I used a resonator guitar, tuned to open G, with a slide, its got a lot of string buzz happening but that's part of the charm with this, I guess.

I did a take, (recorded on the iPhone) mixed it and all, and then decided I'd do a re-take as I thought I could get a better take with a louder vocal. Here it is.. enjoy!

Lyrics:

Some days it all seems the same
And altogether way too tame
Out of old patterns we need to break
Otherwise it feels way too fake
Time to ditch the guard rails that keep it way too mild
Time to get down and dirty and wild

Just following social conventions
With all the very best intentions
You have to break bad to keep it real sometimes
You have to color way outside the lines
Time to break loose like a crazy flower child
Time to get down and dirty and wild

You play it safe you may be in danger
In a world that is stranger and stranger
Too much safety has too many consequences
Its time to jump those fences

Time to ditch the guard rails that keep it way too mild
Time to get down and dirty and wild

love the way you play that resonator, perfect instrument for the theme.

The string buzz actually really adds to the overall sound.
Super great guitar line and riffs here for sure.
Love those lyrics; you are absolutely right.
Toe tappin loveliness.
Yeah, excellent work.
