Liner Notes:

Updated, non-"live" version of my previous song, *50388. Did quite a bit more work on it so I'm posting it separately, head over there for video but here you get the mp3! Win / win.

Lyrics:

I’m just like a soldier
who won’t give up the war
although there was a ceasefire
several months before
I’m like a football fan
that will not celebrate
because they fear a comeback
even though it’s far too late

am I a stickler for the rules?
am I waiting for a cure?
or does my dedication
mask a motive that’s impure?

One weird trick
To hide the tears
Conceal your face in public
For two years
Science hates
this simple task
hold your heartbreak
back behind a mask

All the snow has melted
but I’ll still wear a scarf
open up my heart again
please don’t make me laugh

I had hope but now I’m hopeless
could’ve cleaned up but now I’m a big mess
I was on top feeling clever
now I’m broken - maybe forever

One weird trick
To hide the tears
Conceal your face in public
For two years
Science hates
this simple task
hold your heartbreak
back behind a mask

I really like the rawkin' vibe you've got going on here. Great harmonies, and I like the lyrics a lot. Well done as always!

Gloriously poppy and absolutely captures the zeitgeist. Great stuff!

And I have more than one friend who tells me they'll miss wearing a mask (if that day ever comes) because at the moment they can silently swear at people who annoy them in public and get away with it...

Yeah, gram positivation. Great drummer and synths. Though the lyrics gloom the vibe gives hope and propels us into a starry future

love the upbeat post-punk/pop feel... puts me in mind of the jam a bit. all sounds great, nice arrangement - i like the variation in the drums especially. nicely done!
