Liner Notes:

Weird song alert-- tune came first then the words. Total time writing/recording: 13 min

Yes, there's a small mistake in the whistle solo part of the song but SKIRMISH. And lunchtime.

Lyrics:

floating away
like a balloon
feeling like there's no care in the world

sailing away
off on the breeze
let the worries and cares disappear

take a moment in time
let it all just go on
take some time just to breathe
and find new strength to rely upon

drifting away
like a balloon
let go from a child's willing hand

flying away
won't be back soon
and I hope that you understand

take a moment in time
let it all just go on
take some time just to breathe
and find new strength to rely upon

floating away
like a balloon
feeling like there's no care in the world

Love the 'floating away" and "sailing away" notes... Now it's "drafting away" - "Flying away" ....

I find the lyrics to be more inspiring than weird--there's a sense of hope and lightness there that really carries the song. I can't believe this only took 13 minutes--it sounds so polished and complete. Fantastic skirmish!

God you do this marvelous song so quickly? Live the feeling it gives me!

13 minutes? Wow. The metalfoot of old is back!

I really like this. It's got a breezy feeling like the balloon. Nice job.

Fabulous quick write! I love the short lines that covey a sense of hope and wonder - it is that letting go and drifting free that allows us, I think, to understand and feel more deeply and completely without restraint. Great take on the skirmish prompt!

13 minutes or 13 hours, this turned out great! It's fun and lighthearted, and I love the "floating away" concept. So glad to have you back!

This is really a swell song Alex! Wonderful message and I liked the warning given in V2...let it go but be prepared for its unlikely return! Nice work on the skirmish!

Nice to hear this positive song, and whistling too. Great message.

doesn't sound weird, sounds very full and complete for a 13 min write/record though! blimey, at that stage i am going ok maybe that's a possible angle, lets start writing... great skirmishes

13 minutes?! How is that possible, practically an improvisation piece. Very well done, very listenable and a lyric that makes much sense. You've crafted a complete song to my ear - excellent skirmish!

I'm in awe. I just couldn't cope with skirmishing. Thirteen minutes in to one of my productions, I'd still be stuck choosing which synth I wanted to use for the bassline.

And hooray for a whistled solo!
