PROMPT: a favorite place to be on a hot summer night

Collaboration desired

Lyrics:

V1
gliding in a small kayak
on a still Wisconsin lake
red sun at the horizon
blue heron in the bay

dark tall white pines surround
the light sandstone shoreline
a loon makes a mournful call
that echos in my mind

C
there’s no
other place
like this
for mindful
solitude

there’s no
other place
like this
to dream
about you

V2
drifting in an old canoe
on a still Wisconsin night
gold full moon rising up
as stars come out to shine

the splash of a jumping bass
startles a buck at the shore
mallards swim by silently
my heart longs for you more

C
there’s no
other place
like this
for mindful
solitude

there’s no
other place
like this
to dream
about you

B
the wonder of these summer nights
with the magic spirit of wilderness
call me home to teach me love
peace and happiness

C
there’s no
other place
like this
for mindful
solitude

there’s no
other place
like this
to dream
about you

Sounds fabulous. Water lapping at the side of a canoe, as the paddles glide through the lake. Switch to jack pines and you have Muskoka, just north of my house. Nice lyric.

This is a wonderful word portrait! It's beautiful, and a touch sad, but not too much. Really awesome job portraying and describing this setting!

I love the images here. It's quite nice and I can imagine myself in a canoe with the moon above. Nice
