Liner Notes:

To the prompt Road. Not at home so some lyrics only.

Lyrics:

Road

V1 Ive run this road a thousand times
I know it like a friend
I know every hill and hollow
To the very end

V2 Ive paced it in the summer heat
Ive run it in the rain
Survived the icy slide
Its never quite the same

C Im the long distance runner
Always off somewhere
Pacing every street
On a road that ends nowhere x2

V3 Sometimes I’m at full pace
A jog sometimes is best
I never miss a single day
Some say that I’m obsessed

V4 I just love the open road
The stretching of my limbs
The exhilaration as i go
The freedom that it brings

C Im the long distance runner
Always off somewhere
Pacing every street
On a road that ends nowhere x2

B The open road oh the open road
I know that i will find
The place where i am at home
And find my piece of mind

C Im the long distance runner
Always off somewhere
Pacing every street
On a road that ends nowhere x2

As someone who has been a long distance runner and speed walker I love this and can relate. Put a smile on my face. Thanks

Cool take on the prompt - a great lyric from a convincing point of view. I used to run and can definitely to relate to the singer. Nice write!

"Ive run this road a thousand times/I know it like a friend" - love those opening lines! This is such an interesting take on the prompt and let's be honest - long distance runners don't get enough songwriting love. I think many can relate to that bridge.

Wonderful image here and the open road and long distance runner - you capture that spirit of freedom and comforting sense of familiarity so well.

Kind of loneliness from this lyric., on a road to nowhere.. Challenging oneself. Inspiring in a way.

I love your take on the prompt, and how things are never quite the same. I love the imagery here and "On a road that ends nowhere" is a great line and the perfect way to end the chorus. Really nice work!
