Too Many Miles

Liner Notes:
I participated in the 2021 Circle of Titles challenges over at the songfight! site. I was given a couple of titles and a couple of optional challenges. I chose the title "too many miles" but didn't quite hit the challenge "old timey pop" but got a song anyway. Written and recorded a couple of weeks ago.
Acoustic: Yairi DY-46
Bass: Ibanez Gio shortscale
electric: Ibanez AM73B 1F (smaller body 335 copy)
Drums: Superior Drummer 2
Lyrics:
Your picture's on the wall
I never took it down
I guess I could never let you go
I'm sitting silently
My tears don't make a sound
This quiet house can take it's toll
Too many miles to go
Before I see you again
Too many miles before I die
Too many things to do
Now that you're not around
Too many decisions I must make
Picking out your casket
Choosing your hole in the ground
It's all too much for me to take
Too many miles to go
Before I see you again
Too many miles before I die
And maybe I will be okay
What am I supposed to do?
After all that we've been through?
Too many miles to go
Before I see you again
Too many miles before I die
Too many miles to go
Before I see you again
Too many miles before I die

Comments
Such a juxtaposition of the peppy melody and the dark lyrics. I really like the chords on the bridge.
the music is so bright that if one is not listening closely, the somber occasion of the singers loss may be overlooked.
Dark emotions, wonderful musical setting. You brought your A game here.
