A conversation that included the mention of the word "seed" brought these ideas to life.

Lyrics:

Seed

Many years ago on ground that was fertile
A seed was planted and survived the hurdle
Of harsh terrain, it grew and grew
And nobody noticed except the few
Who nurtured it's growth to serve as a means
Expanding their fauna by spreading its greens
Sprouting into a tree, taking years to branch out
Roots getting stronger for its nurses no doubt

Seed, seed
Seed us your need
Seed, seed
We'll nourish and feed
All of the people everywhere who are down
We'll re-grow this old garden
All ye must come,
Come to our town

What started small in the forest of a few
Morphed into a creature come one morning's dew
Usurped sunlight from other trees
Then dropped seeds that would blow in the breeze
Other species slowly began to die
While this tree umbrellaed high to the sky
Expanding its force wiping out other kinds
A forest dilemma entangled in vines

Seed, seed
Seed us your need
Seed, seed
We'll nourish and feed
All of the people everywhere who are down
We'll re-grow this old garden
All ye must come,
Come to our town

The tree's seedlings continued to multiply
And those who were different continued to die
The caregivers had schemes in place
To wipe out what was but first they'd erase
The world as they knew it thinking that time
Would be on their side with the tree in its prime
And that's where it ended, it's anyone's guess
Just peer out your window and look at the mess

Seed, seed
Seed us your need
Seed, seed
We'll nourish and feed
All of the people everywhere who are down
We'll re-grow this old garden
All ye must come,
Come to our town

Whoah! That's a powerful metaphor! Tight writing and rhyming, good, subtle morphing of the storyline, and appropriate imagery. Really well done. Smile
