Mosaics (50/90 collab with @geoff61)

Collaborators:

Liner Notes:

Lyrics by @geoff61, music by @Amanda Rose Riley.

Amanda: Another good lyric collab with someone I haven't worked with before! It kind of reminded me of a cool indie pop lyric, so that's what I was going for. That might be hard to tell in an acoustic demo but I think I did okay.

Lyrics:

V
I liked our life together,
But it was not enough, for you.
So get on down the road now,
And go do something new.

PC
I’ve heard enough of what you say,
So here’s your brand new start.
You can take away the baggage,
And shoot me through the heart.

C
We were living like mosaics,
With the cracks all in between.
And a love that was prosaic,
Only you know what I mean.

V
Though I can’t see your lips move,
They’ll be talking anyway.
I haven’t lost the feeling,
Of the hurtful yesterdays’.

PC & C

M
You came to this with scant regard,
You didn’t try, so very hard.
You had seen and done these things before.
And then you slammed the door.

PC & C

V
I know we had some colours,
I can say that much for sure.
But we left all of those pieces,
Just scattered on the floor.

PC & C

V
I liked our life together,
But it was not enough, for you.
So get on down the road now,
And go do something new.

the rhythmic variations would work well in an indie band.. . i like You can take away the baggage,
And shoot me through the heart but i mis-heard backache for baggage and actually like it better that way

Really interesting timing changes and just off chord phrasing, works well on this very nice lyric!

Great collab Amanda, hope you enjoyed it. I liked the vocal line variation and strong vocal too, thanks again.

The PC and cho changes help to muddy the evershowing tonic key and build interest, I wonder what it would sound in a more minor mode.
