Liner Notes:

@fresh spotless youth likes to say that his songs are like "driftwood forts that will be consumed by the sea." I subscribe to that songwriting philosophy, too. If I were to add anything, I would note that I generally like to write myself into a box, by which I mean that I record X bars of music and then try to make something out of it. FSY helped me with this one, as he always does. He was of the opinion that the song begins too abruptly. He likes the end bit, where we just camp on the I chord for a while. He suggested that we open with that. My feeling is that once the box is built, there's no getting out of it.

Lyrics:

Look and you won’t find me
If you look, then you won’t find me

That’s not a gravestone, honey
It’s a cenotaph
You might ask me
Danny, Danny
What the hell is that
There’s not a dime’s worth of difference
In the long run
But today you can rest assured
You won’t find no bones

If you’re looking, you won’t find me
If you look here, you won’t find me

And what’s a dime worth in 3035
You can bet your ass it’s nothing
Even if it survives
There’s no full faith or credit
In the long run
But today you can rest assured
You won’t find no bones

If you’re looking, you won’t find me
If you’re looking here, you won’t find me
If you’re looking, you won’t find me
If you looking right here, you won’t find me

You won’t find me

Cos when you dead you dead you dead. But this song is so alive and jumping. Who needs bones?! The legend will live on!
Good stuff. very pre and post (Sartre?). Smile
Thanks for your kind words earlier!

Great touch with that little solo tiny guitar and synth. About the box, everyone gets his own getting in and out of and I guess that's for life as the song goes

This is a fun, catchy new wave song. The music has a lot of fun to it, the lyrics and the delivery of the vocals have a nice bit of bite to them.
