Ghost Prints
Post date:

Demo:
Liner Notes:
Monday skirmish.
Prompt: The Living (Could be plants, people, ghosts, life whatever)!
I've been listening to the podcast interview with David Crosby and Steve Silberman - Crosby talks about reincarnation and his concept of ghost prints (imprints from past lives that cause the occasional "deja vu" feeling). So voila! A song idea!
Lyrics:
V1:
Deja vu
Once in awhile
Me and you
Seems I remember your smile
At least it seems that way
Or has my mind just gone astray
CH:
Ghost Prints
Faintly developed on my soul
Makes sense
Like peering through a tiny keyhole
Uneasy feeling once again
Who and why and what and
Where had they been
V2:
Moments past
Energy released
They don't last
But curiosity increased
On the inside
Something trying to be my guide
CH:
Ghost Prints
Faintly developed on my soul
Makes sense
Like peering through a tiny keyhole
Uneasy feeling once again
Who and why and what and
Where had they been
Ghost Prints

This is so beautiful. Wow. I'll be honest that I've never heard of a ghost print, so I tried to look it up and, well, there were some unhelpful results. Either way, I think I can glean the meaning from your lyrics and it's lovely. "Something trying to be my guide" Nice interpretation of the prompt!
Amazing skirmish. Beautiful flow and harmonies in this song.
Oh gosh, this is amazing! That keyhole line and the vocals-just wo!
I can hear the influence. One of my favs of yours this year. Top harmonies, love that run up guitar. Really cool Jeff
Very beautiful song and very fresh concept of ghost prints. Beautiful singing and playing. What a wonderful take on a skirmish prompt!
Love that guitar lick and the gorgeous melody and vocals. Love the harmonies on that amazing chorus! Such insight shared and wonderfully beautiful sentiment. Such a touching and a wonderful testament to those people who touch you in profound ways even after they are gone. One of my favorites!
Perfect song. I heard a few chords in the verse that reminded me of “Pigs on the Wing” and wondered where you’d go with it. The chorus has a hint of CSN&Y feeling, especially the N harmony which the other three ought to keep around at any cost.
