Liner Notes:

I'm not all gloom and doom but some thoughts sprung to mind after watching the situation in Afghanistan and thinking about our involvement there and then thinking about what's going on in the US these days.

Would be great to hear it, though I am not sure of the genre. Poetry slam? Rap? Folk? lol Maybe not folk.

Open to collaborating with someone on this.

Lyrics:

What the fuck

We invade other countries
In our attempt to remake
Fanatical societies
And they'll never shake
Tribalism, warlords
But that didn't stop our plan
To tame them like their beasts
Over a 20 year span

What the fuck
What the fuck
What the fuck
Is going on
Is crazy now the norm
Will all that's good soon be gone?

While at the same time at home
There's a movement to wipe out
Our traditions we hold dear
Some want a new route
Outnumber certain groups
We'll flood them at the border
Let's remake the US
By creating disorder

What the fuck
What the fuck
What the fuck
Is going on
Is crazy now the norm
Will all that's good soon be gone?

We sit
We complain
But never really act
Except to take sides and fight each other
And that is just a fact

What the fuck
What the fuck
What the fuck
Is going on
Is crazy now the norm
Will all that's good soon be gone?

Quite. According to the Associated Press, the US spent two TRILLION dollars on the intervention in Afghanistan and the construction of a regime that collapsed in less than twenty-four hours after they pulled out. I'm sure a lot of consulting companies did extremely nicely out of it all over the last two decades; the Afghani people, not so much.

"Is crazy now the norm?" is a question for our times and no mistake.

Yes! It's all such a mess, and no way to make it better it seems. I think we can all relate.

honestly all you went on to say is what i imagined on reading the song title on the song page. WTF indeed. nice rhythm and rhymes in there.

This is the sentiment from quite a few of my friends. You have definitely put it out there full ham, for sure. I'm curious to hear the demo when it comes to life. Hit me up when it does.

I have really been sad for Afghanistan. I have no words. These are great lyrics. I think that the F-word is the most appropriate for the situation. I myself feel this as a punk rock song. Check out the band, Anti-Flag Smile

Your chorus poses some very good questions. Questions many of us have thought too. Thanks for putting it out there!

It's a really good lyric about events, irrelevant of your personal beliefs. Could be a cracker of a song with the right treatment.
