Liner Notes:

this song is about my chronic stomach pain.
i named it “medicine, part ii” because i consider it to be a spiritual successor of sorts to a different song I wrote a few years ago called “medicine.”

Lyrics:

lately ive been sicker than I’ve ever been
can’t even get out of bed sometimes
my stomach feels like someone reached inside me and twisted up my insides

lately I can’t eat, and I’ve been losing weight
I’m already skin and bones; i’ll soon be dead, just wait
my stomach feels like there’s a rubber band
wrapped around and tightened like on a plastic bag

im so sick of being sick
(please come quick with my medicine)
i feel my insides start to tighten
(I feel my head begin to spin)

lately, my body’s been my torturer
i live at its mercy, i never know when the pain will strike
my stomach feels like someone took a dull knife, performed a slow methodic shredding of my insides
and I feel like I have died,
and I must be in hell tonight

and im so sick of being sick
(please come quick with my medicine)
i feel my insides start to tighten
(I feel my head begin to spin)
i’m so fucking sick of being sick
(please make this stop, I’m losing my mind)
I never asked to live like this
(this isn’t living; this is no life)

I really love the overall sound and feel of this. The parts are great, but the sum of them is excellent. The guitar in the chorus especially has this warbly drag that is very fitting to this lyric I can completely relate to(Bad stomach ulcers/etc, in my late teens and early 20') Hope you get to feeling better, I just had to lay off the coke/pills/hard liquor a bit and was better in a few years.
