Fibonacci Fun

Liner Notes:

Saw the Fibonacci challenge just as I was going to bed and then of course I could not fall asleep until I tried it - so a quick write with a Fibonacci sequenced chorus.
I realize this will not be a hit lyric but it was fun to write!

Fibonacci was a an Italian mathematician remembered now largely for a numerical sequence he described where the next number in the sequence is the sum of the previous two numbers - 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 33, 54, etc…

So in the chorus I have syllables
1,1
2
3
5

Lyrics:

Fibonacci Fun

V1
my plate is full
too much to do
don’t have the time
to spend with you

but then I heard
about a little game
called Fibonacci
named for math fame…

and I had to play…

C1
hey! hey!
hello
intrusive
imagination

yea! yea!
yippee
creative
considerations

I love
sequenced
soph’moric
syllabication

V2
my time is short
and work is long
can’t find the space
to write a song

but when I heard
about a little game
called Fibonacci
words flew my way….

with things to say…

C2
so! so!
splendid
intense
infatuation

more! more!
mostly
awesome
alliterations

I like
sequenced
soph’moric
syllabication?

V3
my muse tempts me
leads me astray
when I find some
new things to play

so as I heard
about a little game
called Fibonacci
I screamed hooray!…

I’ll start today!…

C3
oh! oh!
okay
persistent
procrastination

no! no!
needless
exhausted
exasperation

I hate
sequenced
soph’moric
syllabication

This is clever and really fun. It flows quite nicely, I'm always impressed when folks can take a subject matter that wouldn't normally be considered for a song and work with it.

“syllabication“ Ha! That’s epic. So fun! Good going with the Fibonacci challenge. Makes the chorus a little different with the syllables. Shakes it up and makes it pretty cool.

Great fun and bubbling with enthusiasm all the way to the last verse, which is an hilarious about turn. The extended rhyming structure really becomes addictive here. And if "sequenced soph’moric syllabication" isn't a cracking album title, I don't know what is.

Persistent procrastination is my stock in trade! Good take on the challenge. In a former life I was a math major so I have to point out that the 10th number is 34, not 33 followed by 55. Not that anybody cares. Wink
