Lyrics:
Scars
He gives his scorpion shakes
And sobs until the tears he makes
The only other sound's the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.
But he has promises to keep,
Until then he shall not sleep.
He rises from his bitter bed,
With thoughts of sadness in his head,
Hello hello i shout
things could be worse
You could be missing cards
Or have an empty purse
You could have an itch unscratched
Or a night without the dark
You wounds sore and deep
But they never leave a mark
He idolises being dead.
No Facing day with never ending dread.
Whose soul is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite sad and so
It really is a tale of woe,
He hasn’t anywhere to go
I watch him sit and frown.
And slowly sink and drown
Hello hello i shout
things could be worse
You could be missing cards
Or have an empty purse
You could have an itch unscratched
Or a night without the dark
You wounds sore deep
But they never leave a mark

I love how you've woven some Robert Frost references into the first couple verses. Jaunty tune!
Good sounding tune. I like the words. Good title and I like ......"But they never leave a mark".
robert frost inherited a farm. the condition was he had to live on i. and he hated it , and so wrote stopping by woods on a snowy evening. good set of lyrics delivered at a brisk tempo. remind ud s that althouhthere is always something to complsin about, things could be worse.
Nicely composed song. Lyrics work well and I liked your vocal delivery. Your style is always unique in that regard. Nice to hear some banjo too. Enjoy the listen.
Ha, the Robert Frost allusions totally passed me by. I just enjoyed the upbeat mellowness. Pleasant tune and thoughtful lyrical theme. Like the "hello" beginning to the chorus as it is such a great way of getting everyone's attention. I'm a simple personal and always like it when it is used. Very nice.
Great straightforward approach to this...no frills or fills...just a damn good song!
great and touching. Very well performed and arranged. Great job
