Liner Notes:

Sunday skirmish, so much fun!

TITLE/THEME PROMPT: "UPSIDE DOWN" - Extra credit points if you notate your music, and have a melody line right side up, and turn the staff upside down for a different melody line.

Lyrics:

V1:
Stepped on a crack in the sidewalk
But didn't fall in
Went left when he shoulda gone right
Again and again
Always ended up headin' straight down
A bumpy road
Then he'd turn around
And add to his heavy load

CH:
He lived his life in an Upside Down Sorta Way
Tried to take it all in one big chunk instead of day by day
He couldn't see the forest for the trees
Kept fallin' down endin' up on his knees
He just crawled through life in that Upside Down Sorta Way

V2:
But he never faltered
Just kept on keepin' on
So lost he couldn't find the evening
Before the dawn
Always looked for greener pastures
Through every mile
And despite it all
He always wore a happy smile

CH:
He lived his life in an Upside Down Sorta Way
Tried to take it all in one big chunk instead of day by day
He couldn't see the forest for the trees
Kept fallin' down endin' up on his knees
He just crawled through life in that Upside Down Sorta Way

Excellent particularly for done in just one hour. Very nice and perfect harmonies. You really developed the upside down theme for this prompt. Very good songwriting.

What a lovely light-hearted song. Very nice to listen to following the story. Beautiful take on a skirmish prompt.

this is really wonderful- those vocal harmonies on the chorus feel so right, too! a great tale of survival and really melodic and well done!

Hello, harmonies!! This is fantastic and so relatable. You've painted a very clear picture lyrically that is well supported by that delightful guitar playing. I'm in awe that this was all created in an hour, but very thankful you're sharing it with us!

I am loving the guitar work on this. A real country bounce to it. And the harmonies on the chorus. Great title too... A brilliant take on the prompt

Catchy chorus and good story verses. Kinda reminds me of one of my grandpas. Well done on the skirmish!

Oh those harmonies! But even aside from that, this is a great song. The walking on the guitar reflects the optimism of your subject, a quixotic hero completely believable and deeply sympathetic.

Guitar progression caught my attention immediately. Introductions are important, something I can work on. Such an upbeat song about being awkward. I really like it.
Thank you for the positive comments on my upside down song.

Great take on the prompt! That guitar playing is top notch and really compliments your vocals. The lyrics are very thought provoking and the chorus is quite catchy. This is a great song, skirmish or not!

Well-crafted folk-rock - I've always dug it, and you absolutely nail it! This is a song to enjoy with a beer on the porch after a long day. So nice!
