Acoustic: Yairi Alvarez DY-46
Mic: Roland R-05 handheld recorder
Lyrics:
I ask you a question
Met with silence or a sigh
I ask you a second time
But you won't reply
I guess you like leaving me
In the darkness all alone
I'm second guessing everything
While you stare at your phone
I'm sitting right here next to you
But still you fade away
You never said a word
Now you've got a lot of shit to say
A hundred, a thousand reasons why
You're leaving me today
I never knew you resented me
For feeling like you had to stay
You could've given me a hint
Now you're leaving me today
Leaving me today
All the times that I made plans
And you never said a word
Getting married, buy a house
You pretend like you never heard
I'm thinking that I'm crazy
Or a fool for loving you
I watch as you destroy our lives
'Cause what else can I do?
I'm standing by the window
As I watch you drive away
You never said a word
Now you've got a lot of shit to say
A hundred, a thousand reasons why
You're leaving me today
I never knew you resented me
For feeling like you had to stay
You could've given me a hint
Now you're leaving me today
Leaving me today

Awww so sad, such a sad song. The lyrics really pull at the emotions, and I love your voice in this
A beautiful song TC, a keeper for sure
Really sad song that delivers the gut punch quite well! Strong hook/title. My favorite part is,
I'm sitting right here next to you
But still you fade away
That is really awesome! Nice performance on this too! Great work T.C.!
i wonder if the situation described in this song is a universal one. it has the ring of a universal truth rather than a unique event. the writing is simple but direct, honest. and pared to the bone. i have the feeling the writer has a lot more to say about this, but selected his points very carefully, my guess the song is based more on the way things feel than an account of something that occurred. but these are just guesses and im probably wrong. it might just be a good song idea skillfully fulfilled.
A TC break up song
This is a very good one, you've captured the resigned emotion really well!
A good sad song! People can process their thoughts listening to it and try to put things in perspective for however it rings true to them, I think. The guitar and vocal express it all well. I like the hook...it's easy to sing over and over.
This is a sad but all too common tale. I think you deliver this beautifully, both the guitar and vocals. That chorus is powerful and very, really nice work on this!
