Songfight title and challenge (part 4/4.) This song continues the saga. Actually, I've just finished a six song series. It includes 6 titles/songs from songfight. Unfortunately, I've written them out of order. But that's okay. At some point I'll post all six as a free download.

Lyrics:
I know I made a promise
A promise I'm gonna break
'Cause I can't stand the pain she's in
Every minute she's awake
All the tears and the look on her face
It's more than I can take
I know I made a promise
A promise I'm going to break
There's a place I've got to go
On my way home
I can't help it if I lose control
On my way home
On my way home tonight
I try but I can't stop
Thinking about that man
I know the reality
I honestly understand
I'm a fool if I don't leave him alone
But I don't think I can
I try but I can't stop
Thinking about that man
There's a place I've got to go
On my way home
I can't help it if I lose control
On my way home
On my way home
On my way home tonight

Very novel the phone and the narration. Good solid rock song with a very good hook and excellent guitar piece. Excellent variation on a classic rock style.
There's a undercurrent of menace in the lyric if I'm getting it right sounds like someone is about to get an ass woopin, I like that the purpose of the stop off is left unstated and open to interpretation, agree tight rock sound nicely produced, Good job TC.
I'm also getting a vibe that something bad is going down here, and I'm getting that just as much from the powerful rock backing track as I am from the lyrics. The "film excerpts" really help sell this as happening in something close to real time, which is a really neat touch.
And you definitely stuck the ending!
sounds like you are going to kill the guy, . a simple ass whooping is not going to be enough.i like the fact that the music is neither angry nor violent, but the lyrics are lethal.
While the lyrics tell the story, the telephone call bits really show it. All stitched around a rocking song. Well done!
Intense! I like that the story is ominous but still open to interpretation - something violent is going down, though. Rockin' guitars, catchy chorus - good one!
