Amanda says: I sent Steven these lyrics less than a week ago, for the GYAWS theme "WRITE TO A DANCE SCENE IN A MOVIE"... This is our answer to that Smile

Bear in mind this is not the completed finished track, it's a first demo for GYAWS. We're changing the lyric for the third line of the chorus, as it's a bit tech for your average listener I suspect.

Thank you for listening,
Amanda and Steven Smile

Lyrics:

Verse 1
You called me this morning just to wonder if
I was gonna take you in tow
Maybe dance buy some fizz
Oh oh oh

Verse 2
I took you out dancing it was oh trés chique
We're drinking loads an fooling around
Things get hot in the boogie heat
In the club at the end of the red light street
In the club at the end of the red light street
The end of the red light street

Refrain/chorus
Hold on tight in the rhythm in the music
Hold on tight in the feeling in the flow
Hold on tight in the phasing in the snare drum
Hold on tight and let it all go

Verse 3
We can sense a pulse from the walls and the floor
Feel it flow with an awesome buzz
An' the tension as we move now becomes a roar
oh oh oh

Verse 4
The music keeps hopping in a throbbing beat
Oh my god you look so cool
While we're getting close and looking deep
In the club at the end of the red light street
In the club at the end of the red light street
In the club at the end of the red light street

Refrain/chorus
Hold on tight in the rhythm in the music
Hold on tight in the feeling in the flow
Hold on tight in the phasing in the snare drum
Hold on tight and let it all go
Hold on tight in the rhythm in the music
Hold on tight in the feeling in the flow
Hold on tight in the phasing in the snare drum
Hold on tight and let it all go

I love the drive and the energy in this one. And the harmonies in the chorus are fabulous. It's tight and punchy, and I can totally "see" this as a dance scene in a movie!

±Very teen movie, buying a fizz and going dancing! OMG you look so cool!

Tight arrangement, I like the bass a lot.

This is fun and really good. Love the rhythmic beat and flow to this. Lyric, vocals and everything in the sound department are all very catchy. Nice collaboration.

this is a swingin' affair. i dont see any reason to change the third line of the chorus. the vocal interplay is exciting and the song would inspire me to dance with a chair if no partner were available.

So fun! I love these fast-paced lyrics, and the way the instruments progressively drop out at the end of the verse then come back in full swing for the chorus is a nice touch. Makes me want to get up and dance!

This had me dancing! Love the repeating words and the harmony in the chorus! Fun collaboration!

Oh wow that drum programming and guitar riffage had me feeling some Two-Door Cinema Club, who's high-energy songs I really like. This gives me that feel.
Love the rhythm of this, great drums and bass along the guitars.
And the vocals are awesome, too. Everything about this is catchy. I'm pretty sleepy right now but still feel like moving a bit.
The lyrics themselves have high energy with the repeated "hold on tight", and lots of rhythm. I feel the music and vocals brings them to life perfectly.
Great track

I was sold as soon as that classic old-school drum machine beat kicked in. Hints of Joy Division, Devo, and a bucketload of bands that I loved from back then, and all used in the service of a really catchy song.

I *LOVE* this!

Dance scene eh? Yeah this moves at a speed, the lyrics are quite old fashioned and I guess they're written for old people. So I hope they can move at the speed of this! Biggrin
The catchiness might tempt them to injury.

I'll have you know that FKOD are a contemporary band, with a few fans ! lol

As for the song, I will google FKOD, and see what they’re about. I like the lyric, lots. And the dance music is relatable, but I am old.
