Liner Notes:

Here's my contribution to the lyrical Morph challenge, where each contributor changes the previous version of the lyric by about 50 percent. @kahlo gave us the 'seed' lyric; @nate.gerry made his adjustments, then handed the result to @Spazsquatch, who in turn passed his result on to me, where I added things or made alterations that amounted to about the required 50 percent. It was fun, and I enjoyed the imagery and story that made their 'way through' (no pun intended Wink ) the various iterations.

Lyrics:

V1
I’ve seen us get through the cat that kept stealing pyjamas
The time you chased the fox away wearing nothing but your socks
The bee stings you got from dancing among the wildflowers.
And mornings after pints at The Dogs Bollocks.
You let me try to pull off the hip hugging snakeskin pants.
And insisted we binge watch all six seasons of C.H.I.P.s
We’ve seen our way through some crazy things in our time.

Chorus
Though seeing’s not believing
And I’m something of a skeptic
Usually too much fantasy
Will make my ulcer peptic
My feet are mostly on the ground
But lately I’m enjoying
All the woo-woo going round

V2
There was a time when it always felt like a bed of roses
These days those moments are as frequent as a blue moon
We were always a bit of a diamond in the rough.
The little shine we had seemed to fade too soon.
Now I’m seeing things that I hoped I would never have to.
What I’ve seen breaks my heart and steals away my breath.
We’ve seen our way through ups and downs in our time.

Chorus
Though seeing’s not believing
And I’m something of a skeptic
Usually too much fantasy
Will make my ulcer peptic
My feet are mostly on the ground
But lately I’m enjoying
All the woo-woo going round

Bridge
Cats and bees and beds of roses
Moons of blue and diamonds
And that little shine that fades
With my heart upon my sleeve I swear
There’s nothing I would trade

Chorus
Though seeing’s not believing
And I’m something of a skeptic
Usually too much fantasy
Will make my ulcer peptic
My feet are mostly on the ground
But lately I’m enjoying
All the woo-woo going round

Outro
I’m seeing things I hoped I’d never have to
But come on world, just bring it on
What won’t kill us makes us strong
Hang us from the rafters
Dangle us from chandeliers
Yeah, we’ll take it all from here
I know we’re going to see our way through this

Woah! This has really morphed. I read @Kahlo’s seed song at the start - some very cool things going on here after bees knees and cats pyjamas. Pints at The Dogs Bollocks made me laugh! The first verse is really solid. I had a giggle at the skeptic/ulcer peptic rhyme Smile so funny! My fav part is ‘lately I’m enjoying all the woo-hoo going round’.

This being my first morph it's weird to see something you wrote adapted and re-contextualized like this and I couldn't be happier. I love this. Somewhere inside me is a eternal romantic calling out for mom to get his big brother cynical skeptic off of him and I've got a soft spot for the little guy.

Fabulous lyric morph! I love how this lyric and message has evolved. I love how different elements of other irons have crept in and the starting idioms have changed shape and structure. This lyric has a kick ass quality that I love so I can also in my head hear the music morph as well.
