Morph of @nate.gerry lyrics from http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/47853. I drifted away from the idioms but kept some of the whimsical imagery that the words conjured, to establish a playful mood before the song came around and doubled down on the "negative" the previous morph added. I think I hit the goal of the challenge, but I'll admit there are a few bits in here that feel forced. Maybe that just comes with a challenge like this.

EDIT: Not sure what happened. This song posted to my profile twice so I thought I made a mistake and deleting one deleted both. Reposting, but both are still showing up on my profile but can't be clicked on.

Lyrics:

[VERSE]
I’ve seen us get though the cat that kept stealing pyjamas
The time you chased the fox away wearing nothing but your socks
The bee stings you got from dancing among the wildflowers.
And mornings after pints at The Dogs Bollocks.

You let me try to pull off the hip hugging snakeskin pants.
And insisted we binge watch all six seasons of C.H.I.P.s
We’ve seen our way through some crazy things in our time.
I just don’t see how we’ll see our way through this.
I don’t see how we’ll see our way through this.

[VERSE]
There was a time when it always felt like a bed of roses
These days those moments are as frequent as a blue moon
We were always a bit of a diamond in the rough.
The little shine we had seemed to fade too soon.

Now I’m seeing things that I hoped I would never have to.
What I’ve seen breaks my heart and steals away my breath.
We’ve seen our way through ups and downs in our time.
I just don’t see how we’ll see our way through this.
I don’t see how we’ll see our way through this.

[BRIDGE]
With my heart upon my sleeve I sincerely promise.
What we’ve seen I wouldn’t trade for anything else.
In love and war they claim that anything is fair.
But I’m blind to any truth, in that, from here.

[VERSE]
Now I’m seeing things that I hoped I would never have to.
What I’ve seen breaks my heart and steals away my breath.
We’ve seen our way through all sorts of things in our time.
But I don’t see how we’ll see our way through this.
I don’t see how we’ll see our way through this.

Ha! This is great! I love how you flipped the idols around to convey a story that augments the sentiment! Really great job!

I love your morph! Definitely intrigued by the story that the narrator sets up. There's a lot not said and that's the beauty of your lyrics - it leaves a lot of to the imagination of the reader
