Liner Notes:

I genuinely don't know how much writing I'm going to get done this 50/90, but I'm in a songwriting class for the next six weeks, so I'll at least have a few up. Here's the one I wrote for this week's class, inspired by a conversation with a young friend who's navigating a new mental health diagnosis that I have some personal experience with.

Lyrics:

Are you in a liquid state
Does constant change define your shape
Do you wonder if the ground
Will ever feel solid again

They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
But all you want is softness and a quiet place to land
I see you wrestle devils off your shoulders
And I want you to know I understand

Perhaps the gods have gone away
But in the dark we sometimes pray
To whoever might be listening
Even if it’s only us

They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
But all you want is softness and a quiet place to land
I see you wrestle devils off your shoulders
And I want you to know I understand

I have stood where you are standing
And I still bear the scars
But I can tell you there is beauty up ahead
And clearer skies all full of stars

They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
But all you want is softness and a quiet place to land
I see you wrestle devils off your shoulders
And I want you to know I understand

Nice song. I can relate to it, maybe a bit more than i'd like to.
And a relatable song is a strong song.
