Liner Notes:

I'm pretty sure this what you get when you listen to 'Sweet Jane', 'Beautiful Girl', and 'Throw Your Arms Around Me' in one day.

Lyrics:

I’m on the landlocked jetty
I’m waiting for a train
It’s gonna take me back to you

Again, I’m a repeat offender
Can’t keep myself away
I’m solid iron and you’re magnetising me

They’re gonna rerelease me
Caught in the machine
Sparks flying, cords tying up the unforeseen

I need your patient hands, love
I’m overwhelmed
I don’t trust myself to do this right and I really want you at the helm

Oh, take me by the hand
And take me by the belt
Take me by the heart and make your feelings felt
(Make your feelings felt)

I’m living on an island
I’m challenged by the sea
Only so long you can swim diagonally

But I know you’ll be my anchor
When the tides get rough
I hope that someone, somewhere, is hearing this
And thinking of the person they love

Oh, take me by the hand
And take me by the belt
Take me by the heart and make your feelings felt
(Make your feelings felt)

Take me by the hand
Take me by the belt
Take me by the heart and make your feelings felt
(Make your feelings felt)

Take me by the hand
Take me by the belt
Take me by the heart and make your feelings felt
(Make your feelings felt)

And make your feelings felt

The take me by the hand/take me by the belt pairing is ear-catching in its unexpectedness. The melody is lovely as are the harmonies, and the guitar line does its job perfectly. Nice work!

this is the mosr inventive use of lou reeds sweet jane chords that ive heard. perhaps because it is the antithesis of what reed does. love your voice on this. its so ambiguously etherial. if that makes sense. the vocal doubling is an inspired way to take it to the end. but im still tryng to picture a landlocked jetty.

Thank you my friend! I don't usually reply on my songs but I thought I'd better keep this here - the 'landlocked jetty' is the station platform!

This has just gently whispered into my brain and stayed there. There's so much magic in those lyrics, but I particularly love the idea of swimming diagonally. And as a Northerner, I'm smiling at "landlocked jetty" becuase it instantly made me think of Wigan Pier...

Beautifully done.

Very nice. Since you mentioned Sweet Jane I can hear that in the guitar, but this song is a whole 'nother thing.

It does make me think of the one I love. We started off a with a little distance, and I was taking trains (and cars and Italian scooters) to go see her for a while.

I like the harmonies a lot, nice lift but not overdone. Nicely spaced, comes in at just the right time.
