Liner Notes:

Another superskirmish, prompt: “Hideaway”.

Lyrics:

V1:
Sometimes
I find myself at odds
With everything about this world
I wanna shout up to the Gods

And that's when
I know I need a break
A quiet place to settle in
For everybody's sake

CHORUS:
Silent Shelter
A hideaway for my heart
A resting place for my aching soul
When I'm about to come apart
Silent Shelter
The calm when I'm alone
I recharge all my energy
Get back into the zone

V2:
I know
Perfection's not the plan
When anger gets the best of me
Try to be best I can

The time comes
I need to step away
Find my inner balance
So I can continue the day

CHORUS:
Silent Shelter
A hideaway for my heart
A resting place for my aching soul
When I'm about to come apart
Silent Shelter
The calm when I'm alone
I recharge all my energy
Get back into the zone

nicely done we all recognise that need for a serene place to recharge. i like that yours is more an internal place. very cool

Yeah I like that take on this as well about it being an inner place to hideaway! really nice take on the prompt, and another really great vocal/piano performance.

I love the rises in the melody most notably in the chorus, all those little piano fills are excellent too. I like how it ends too on just like a contemplative hmmmm do I have another verse? should I chorus again? bridge? nah...... it's over hahaha at least that's how I took it Biggrin

Great tune/skirmish!

I love the key change into the chorus - really puts across that move into the zone! I find this kind of Beatlesque. Sweet, soothing piano pop, I like.

This sounds like the 70s to me. Not sure why. This is a compliment, I assure you. Wink It's a nice leisurely stroll of a song.
I think you wrote verse 2 for me. Been reading my mail?

Relatable lyrics, to be sure. Musically, I really like the chorus on this one--there's a tension that resolves so nicely by the end.
