Saltyjohn wrote these great seafaring lyrics and I delved into my Celtic Folk past to try and set them sail...

Lyrics:

I’ve packed my old canvas bag
Adventure is waiting for me
I’ll catch the tide in the morning
I must answer the call of the sea

I’ll set course for the horizon
Sail down the path to the sun
When I come home I will tell you
What I’ve seen and what I’ve done

Salt water runs in my veins
The land ties me in chains

I have to go back...back to the sea
Its siren call captures me
And then it sets me free
That’s why I can’t resist
The call of the sea

The trade winds will fill my sails
And carry me o’er the main
I’ll come home and tell you stories
Of places my anchor has lain

Salt water runs in my veins
The land binds me in chains

I have to get back...back to the sea
Its siren call captures me
And then it set me free
That’s why I can’t resist
The call of the sea

I have to go back...back to the sea
Its siren call captures me
And then it sets me free
That’s why I can’t resist
The call of the sea

That’s why I can’t resist
The call of the sea

I loved the lyrics and a Celtic approach is just right! Super collaboration you two!

These lyrics are absolutely wonderful. Such a wonderful longing for the sea! I can picture the salty kind of study strong weathered character and his love for the sea. The music is perfect in tempo and timbre. You brought out the sea shanty so brilliantly! Love this!

Oh, I love a good sea-faring song! This is wonderful. Smile Great lyric, and the vocals and music are absolutely compelling.

Guys, you had me "hornpiping" all around my bedroom studio all the way through that song.

Nothing like a seafaring song to get the blood stirring early in the morning. Now if you'll excuse me, I have decks to swab...

Great song!!

Very much a sailing-off song, both lyrics and the salty setting. Be a good old-time port tavern song!
