Lyrics:

stomping out in a storm of swish
exit left with a whoosh and a whish
my expression of Offended
you have to admit is absolutely splendid

i've made my point and i'm not budging
i can't see yours - i'm too busy judging
i'm a begrudging curmudgeon
and i'm leaving now in high dudgeon

high dudgeon
indignation affectation
high dudgeon
demonstration of vexation
high dudgeon
i think i made my opinion clear
high dudgeon
and now i am outta here

cant believe you gave me such a trouncing
but i'm not gonna leave without announcing
see that door i'll soon be flouncing out
commence the flouncing

i've made my point and i'm not budging
i can't see yours - i'm too busy judging
i'm a begrudging curmudgeon
and i'm leaving now in high dudgeon

high dudgeon
indignation affectation
high dudgeon
demonstration of vexation
high dudgeon
i think i made my opinion clear
high dudgeon
and now i am outta here

my temper is so spicy hot
so fiery so gingery
i'll just take one more parting shot
cos you caused me mortal injury

i've made my point and i'm not budging
i can't see yours - i'm too busy judging
i'm a begrudging curmudgeon
and i'm leaving now in high dudgeon

high dudgeon
indignation affectation
high dudgeon
demonstration of vexation
high dudgeon
i think i made my opinion clear
high dudgeon
and now i am outta here

oh the grandiosity
the pomposity
vitriolic virtuosity

Love the doubled vocals and carnival-esque music layered with punky guitar. Colorful, playful rhymes and catchy chorus. And the door closing at the end! So good.

OK-you know what? That chorus? That chorus is absolutely amazing! So much fun listening to this and as chaotic as it sounds, there’s so much uniformity to it. Controlled chaos I believe is the term I’ve heard once before. Always cool to hear a song from you.

I'm loving the doubled vocals.
Great high-energy tune you got here for sure.
Really nice chorus.
Hilarious as always, Wobs!

those frst two lines are an excellent description of the sounds to follow. love the way everything is swishing and tripping over everything else. the carnival atmosphere reminds me of blur, and the song as a while has that falling down drunk urgency of Bank Holiday.

Wobbie manages to grab a copy of Spitfire Audio's lost BBC Symphony Orchestra: the "klezmer" package and hilarity ensues. This is priceless. I am *so* glad you got yourself a copy!

I have always loved the expression "high dudgeon" and now I know exactly what it sounds like. Oh, and that chorus, particularly the coupling of "budging" "judging" and "curmudgeon" is hysterical. Absolutely mad, and just what I needed to hear today!

The chorus is astounding. Such wonderful chaos in the whole arrangement.

Theres a fairground here somewhere, i know it! My mind was bombarded with all those sounds, and a very catchy chorus. Lyrically I'm on high dudgeoness! As per my last song.

I love this Punk Rock Log Flume genre. The polysyllabic rhymes are almost a weapon, a constant buffet along with the very percussive track. I can see where the 'skanky' comes in, although for me it was a little more... acidic. More psychedelic. It's a strange world, after all.

Delicious lyrics, which you've served up in a much funkier way than appears possible when one simply reads them.

Brilliant write and performance! So much craft in the lyrics and the performance kept my full attention through to the end, so unique. This gave me a Captain Beefheart chill. Wow! Amazing work!! Smile

Completely bonkers and all the better for it! Refreshing the parts that very few other songs could ever reach with their lackadaisical rhyme and reason ...This has "All the right notes but not necessarily in the right order..." A tour de force of brainiacal brilliance!

This is crazy and crazy good. You could subtitle this "karen's lament" lol. As per usual you got me laughing and left me smiling. Smile

Wow - this is real cabaret punk in a swirling carnival of mirrors! Nice vocal interplay between the high and low, and I love all the horns and what-not. Just great!

That was the old AOL instant messenger closing door sound! Great sounds all around. The glass sounding counterpoint is beautiful.

Hey! This is such a great song! I love the punk feel and punchy delivery! Your vocal expression and phrasing are absolutely great. Your use of language is brilliant - love that chorus!

There was so much going on musically in that song it was hard for me to follow, haha! I love your writing style, it's really original. I found the ending really appealing with the door closing sound (the AOL sign-off one for sure!) and also it ends on a pleasant chord even though there is a lot of discordant sounds in the song, so it felt unexpected.

Whoa, I wasn't expecting this grand theatrical music. What a great live song this would be, with a big band, maybe some of those dancers from the Moulin Rouge. This made me laugh. Just yesterday I used that expression in a conversation with my wife. We wondered where it came from and whether "in a lather" could be a synonym. I'm sure "in a lather" is too colloquial and would therefore lack the pomposity and vitriolic virtuosity required in some situations

FAB.. Full of energy. Love the vocals above the superb crazy circus-esque background. Intrigued how you made it! Would like to know!! I personally love the layered slightly differently timed vocals.. and the loads of noise, sounds, and live-ness of it all. Made my day!

This is fantastic! I love the back-and-forth of the vocals in the chorus. The instrumentation is superb and adds a ton of energy to an already rockin' lyric. Love it!

I feel like I got lost in Transylvania or some other Slavic region just long enough to experience this amazing track. The doubled vocals are so effective & the Gypsy-Slavic-Carney feel of the music is just delicious. I absolutely love the East-European feel to this song - which is juxtaposed so wonderfully with your wonderful English accent. I would love an entire album of tracks like this!

We have a local klezmer band called Yid Vicious that plays all the summer festivals in a normal year. This reminds me of dancing to them with a bunch of addled strangers. I can practically smell the street fair in the massive atmosphere of your track. And the lyrics are so witty in their good-natured bad nature. Super fun!

This is some highly intoxicating music! Got lost for awhile in this Mr. Bungle style almost schizophrenic blending of some amazing noise!, but never a feel of anxious paranoia his music sometimes seems to portray ala Air Conditioned Nightmare, etc...., really fun track! Well done!

edit: just saw your tags.....yes skanky, describes this very well! but I do love me some skanky swagger!

Well this is just brilliant. I love the carnival punk atmosphere you've created in the music, and then the lyrics are so much fun. Also an attitude that we've all suffered from at some point. If I haven't said it before, you are a high point in my listening for 50/90!
