Liner Notes:

This was born on a rooftop during a jam. Four guys, two of them played djembé, Maik, the drummer in my band, played a drum pad and a looper, and I had a bass guitar. I came up with a bass line based on that two notes that Maik played from his drum pad.
The final song is not exciting as the moment that it first blossomed, but I guess that's always the thing with jamming.

I'm currently on vacation in Rügen, not having any guitars with me, I finished the recording that I begun some days ago with just software instruments.

Lyrics:

They want their good times
they want their old times back again
when life was simple, way back when
they could just dominate and
not care bout anyone else

I know in this day and age
things tend to get complicated
I’ll put on your shoes
At least I’ll try to
The task we all got at hand
Is to listen, to understand
And the pains of growing
just means we’re evolving
Aren’t we?

Bring back the old times
Except we can’t
Time won’t move backwards
don’t you understand?
But it is on us to
make it the best that we can

I know in this day and age
it’s way too easy to get enraged
throw shade at me
if you see more than I see
The task we all got at hand
Is to listen, to understand
And the pains of growing
are better than not knowing
Aren't they?

I love these lyrics and the overall sound.
"Bring back the old times
Except we can’t
Time won’t move backwards
don’t you understand?
But it is on us to
make it the best that we can" - that really sums it up nicely. There's no going back so we might as well work with what we've got. I like the breakdown in the middle as well, and the echo-y layered harmonies. Really nice tune!

I like the discordant chant. Good lyric and a solid music base. Nice one.

Very nice. I like the sounds - be it the fresh bass, the percussion or the synths. Interesting choices you had to make because you have no guitars with you. For me it has a New Order feeling. As I said: very nice

Good Lord, I sure as f*** hope we're growing already!!!
That bass is delicious. I cannot get enough. And damn, holding that note at ~ 3:00 for so long is really effective.
: )

That's a driving bass! Hints of RHCP.

Very important message. I remember some good things from the past, but I wouldn't go back if given the chance. That 200M Internet is pretty boss compared to... no Internet. Biggrin

But still! Information age brings so many challenges nobody's ever seen before. Gotta take a lot of understanding from everybody involved. So... everybody?

Yeah...those magic moments either get captured or only vaguely remembered in fleeting memories Smile
Nice job with the recreation though....this still has a jam feel to it
that is a tasty bassline Wink simple, succinct, and very effective!

Super catchy indie jam! Love the mix of percussion and bass as well as the melodic line here. The build to the "na na nas" at the end is great. Also enjoyed the sentiment in your lyrics. "The pains of growing/are better than not knowing." So true.
