Very influential soul was Don, The harmonies with Phil were a huge influence on so many bands not least the Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel and the Beatles. I think all i have to do is dream would probably have been the first song i learned on guitar, still remember C Am F G7. Had to go find how to play the EM for the change, was delighted it was so easy an open chord!

I know! So sad! I babysat a little boy back in the late 60s and his name was Philip Don. He said he was named after the Everly Brothers because his dad grew up with them. Don’t know if that part was true. Most people in SoCal are from somewhere else so maybe he did… but I never forgot him.
