Over on the SA Forum we had a little challenge to make up a TV show and write a minute or so theme song. I did two, a 70's western and a pot-themed Dukes of Hazzard kind of thing. The one I didn't get to was called "Trapped"--kind of a combination of Lost and Twin Peaks set in a mining town. The lyrics for Hole were going to be for that.

It was a fun exercise. Graham Parker did a whole album of themes for made-up TV shows called "Imaginary Television"--it's pretty hilarious.

hey, thanks for the comments! i've got another one that's been cooking for a while, but haven't had much luck getting an arrangement i like. seems to be starting to come together though, so hopefully i'll have something to put up soon (between moving house this week, yikes)

Hi TC, thanks for the comment on the Isle of May. I'm not real happy with the extra backing vocal track I made for it, but c'est la vie. When I clean it up I'll probably rejig that. Glad it makes you want to sing along though :D

BTW, loving the podcasts...

Yeah, that's two seperate tracks of guitar on Dim Light. Virtually eveything I do starts with two tracks of acoustic guitar panned wide left and right, unless it's something I really want to sound live, like on Never Said A Word. But since I really don't play solo shows anymore, I rarely worry about such things.

Anyway, since you were the third or fourth person to mention the vocal being too low, I just went (a few minutes ago) and made the vocal a little more prominent in the mix. Thanks for your input!

I gotta say, I think it's so great hearing from someone who's actually familiar with Mississippi John Hurt. :-)
