Soundboard

This year I'm trying to do a concept-album.

No, wait! Come Back!

For those still reading...

Not sure of the title, or even the entire storyline yet, but the idea is to have at least some kind of thread running through all of the songs. This much so far: the central character is stricken with crippling self-hatred and shame from an as-yet-undetermined origin. This will cause him to compensate by behaving very disagreeably toward others, as a self-absorbed pompous-ass.

Because the idea is a concept album where the songs would run into one another and repeat themes, etc., I'm realizing that many of the songs so far aren't constructed in the conventional way (verse, chorus verse chorus, bridge). This may make the tracks sound kind of odd when played individually.

Will the narrator ever conquer his inner demons, unlocking his true, caring and optimistic self? Or will he be destined to live a life of cynicism and solitude, hurling the hate he feels for himself on those he holds most dear?

Or will Static Captain grow tired of the idea and can the whole project?

Stay tuned!

More!
