Thanks for posting the demo. I'm afraid my throat did feel pretty awful after that, but it was fun to try it :-)

I'll practice and play some gigs... but I probably won't do as much recording until FAWM... but who knows? I'm definitely in the habit of creating now that 50/90 is nearly over.

Hey, thanks for mentioning the Warsaw Village Band. I hadn't heard of them before and I am really digging their stuff now! Hardcore folk music!

Ha! I have song 50, and it is not epic, it is 27 seconds long, b/c that's the only way anything is getting done this week! I don't know what to do about 1979, as I said I have tried several things and none of them work at all. I suspect I am simply not the right songwriter for it. :( However, if you give me permission, I will do something, with the expectation that it will indeed suck. :) Not because of the lyrics but because of me.

Hey there. Do you know what happened to Levesinet?
Looks like he hid his songs and disappeared.
I'm disappointed. I had a few things left to listen to.

Thank you for all those comments, but you should know by now that chirpy is all I know how to do! :) BTW, I am dead committed to getting some kind of music under your fine lyrics. I keep trying everything I come up with. :)

Oh no! Now that you mentioned the moose (elk) the Norwegians might use it against us Finns. ;) Sometimes we do some really stupid stuff. Here's how a finnishman rode a swimming elk two years ago!

That's really extraordinary and I think it turned out to be quite criminal too.

I have heard a story that some Finnish gang of robbers used to ride on elks a few centuries ago and they scared the heck out of people. I was told it's difficult not only because it's a wild animal but because of the shape of its back.

I used a lo-fi plug-in to create the "radio transmission" effect. Hope you like what I did... ;)

Got the files, thank you. :)

I'll get on with the mixing tomorrow, but first impressions are that these are great! :)

Sleep is over-rated... ;)

Many thanks, kind sir. :)

Thanks for your comments on Disappear

Hi Edwin. :)

Many thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.

And I was blown away by the words you've penned for EVA! Dare I ask whether you'd do me the honour of singing them? I'd be delighted to have you as a collab on that one.

Thanks for your comments on my songs. I was struck particularly by your comment on the middle eight of the butterfly song, because that's the part that touched me too. I had this sort of ordinary song, and Jane just handed me her part, and when I got to that part--which was where she used my completely random throwaway title--it was magical. All I could think was, if I was some guy and she sang that bit to me, I'd be in love before the last chorus kicked in. What this all adds up to, is: Jane's great.

Thanks for listening to the "mad-winged deliciousness"! hehe, though I'm starting to think from your description that perhaps downburst and I have produced some sort of stepford wife concoction... :)

Thanks for listening and for the comments. The 'math rock' tag was about the time signatures (going between 3/4 and 4/4) that I thought could be a twist on traditional 12-bar blues.

It appears that we're paired for the random thing.
I suppose my trying to write some lyrics would be the way to go?
I had already commented on a couple of your songs and it looks like we interact on some medieval-dragon stuff and space things. I'll look at some other directions too if the muse isn't cooperative on that

Jet Age Lounge V

Go ahead, by all means do the lyrics and rename it freely. That would be cool! I'm flattered and I couldn't do it myself; I tried a little but in vain. I think it's very singable. There are a couple of places where you could insert a few extra notes naturally. Actually I hope I won't have to transpose it for singing because that would mean rearranging a lot! :D

Here's a downloadable version without the flute melody in case you want to sing along and try some changes to the melody:

Karaoke mix

Same mix after I cut out the extreme bass register

Perhaps it'll need rearranging anyway. If you alter the melody maybe I'll edit the glockenspiel accordingly or something like that. Or maybe some section needs to be repeated...

Hello Edwin, thank you so much for your beautiful comment on my music for Laura's birthday. It is so fascinating to know of your opinion! I absolutely love Katerina's video. She is totally amazing and it's very inspiring to collaborate with her. Thank you again for your beautiful support. Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

HI! hope we can do another collab this year.

Thanks for commenting on my tunes. It is a real Didgeridoo, alright. A tree branch hollowed out by termites. My wife brought it home with her from a trip to Cairns in Queensland. It has even got artwork in the style of the indigenous Australians. It is keyed to Dd (or C#) which I used to think makes it kind of impractical, but I'm beginning to change my mind about that. I think there is a picture in the 'show us your writing space' thread.

1979 O'Clock...I promise, I promise, I won't steal that title. *crosses fingers behind his back*
:)

Guess I have to do a kid's album now, huh? I think this particular song is the first children's song I've written that doesn't involve death in some form, so that's a start. :p

I wish this meant I'd be able to do 58 songs ;)

Thanks for the comment. :) I look forward to seeing what you come up with this 5090.

Thanks for the amazingly nice comments! I used to play with Fred Engels, he was a very good accompanist. Not so good in taking the lead. :D

Hi Edwin, nice to see you back. Looking forward to hearing your songs.
Nadia

Heh, I'll see what I can do....might have to be a diet lemonade, though - I'm driving....

back, i hope?
