Soundboard

Hi Roddy, hope you are well, i have put together a collection of "Scottish" tunes, not sure if they could be called "folk" as I'm not sure what that really is, anyway thus the name "songs aboot ma ain folk". As a fellow Scot I wanted to share with you and perhaps if you have the time, gain some valueable feedback. Link below.

Time for one more collab? 10 days.
CC

Hi Roddy - Thanks for your comments on 'Touch the Sky" I was just playing an egg shaker and tambourine at the same time, after laying down the guitar track. Then I just sang a melody and words "suggested" themselves to me :)

Hi Roddy, thanks for listening and giving such lovely feedback on Black Highway. It's much appreciated :)

Thanks so much for the brillliant collab on "Punch My Ticket" Roddy. The blues treatment was perfect

Hi Roddy, thank you again for taking the time to listen to "danny and jeannie" it's particularly nice to know that a Scot has heard it and thinks it's good enough to be Scottish. I'm not one for explaining songs, but I do wonder is it clear that the song she sings to him in sobriety is Elton John's Daniel?

Thanks for the comments Roddy, Love the Lion and Albert, one of my childhood favourites along with Hilaire Bellocs poems, I might have to give it a try in that mode ;)

My husband pointed it out to me, I haven't been able to listen yet because we are quite close to our internet data cap, hopefully I will be able to listen it in the next week or so.

Thanks a lot for your kind comment! I was very glad to read it! :-)

Thanks for the listen and comment on Love Me Tonight!

Hi Roddy, thanks for taking the time to go over some of my songs your comments are greatly appreciated, this comes with knowing the quality of your own work and the consumate ease you deliver it with.
the king and his fool was a strech, not sure I actually made the leap cleanly though i think the song will live to see another day as it has some merits worthy of further exploration.
Once again thanks for the time and consideration.

Oops, I already said that (about the fills), didn't I. If you're interested, Donna and I have another song--which I also plan to redo--that could really benefit from some barrelhouse piano.

Love to have your contribution on Acid Rain--but I think I want to redo it, a little faster. What it really needs is fills on the verses... it gets kind of monotonous after three rounds of 12 bar blues.

I'll be back, you can be sure!! : )

dude that was awesome! I can't believe how great it was, I love what you did with it all :)

Excellent. Thank you. I'm glad you're having a crack at my "cold comfort" as you see I've set up a place marker for your take on the text. We'll unlock it, in fact re-post it all together, so it is fresh in the time line, the moment your demo is done.
Feel free to choose others. From what I've heard of your stuff you'll do an incredible and unique job. Excited. cc.

Hi Roddy, I listened to nameless woman and hunger in her eyes and really dig the grooves. If you're ever looking for lyrics, come check me out. I'd love to hear what you do with some of mine. cheers & regards, you're on my watchlist. cc

Absolutely love it!!
Also I forgot to tell you where I've been in Scotland. I went to Abbortsford House, Edinburgh (including the Scottish Parliament a week after it was opened), Dundee, New Lanark, the Grouse shop and we stayed in a little village near Perth.
The crossing is said to be really good, I haven't done it but I have considered it. I'm glad that you have a good time in NZ.

Thanks for the kind comments on my songs Roddy, Good pickup with "nowhere" I did have Roger Waters in mind when I was doing the lyrics

You're welcome to add music to it, just send me a message with your suggested lyrical changes before you record. I check my emails regularly during the week. I can kinda see what you want if you want me to change them but I'll need to think about it. I'll add you as a collaborator now.

You are still far too generous! Thanks again, Roddy! :)

Hi Roddy, thanks for listening to "the ace of spads", the shame about this is the tattoo did happen and there was no e and believe it or not it was sited on the forehead, you couldn't make it up if you tried!

Hi Roddy, is that mental health? :)

Hi. Nice to you here too!

Hi Roddy - Nice to see you again - AND I love your ideas for the lead guitar on my song. Matt Blick has also expressed an interest. I'll post your version (once done) and let him know I'd love to hear what he cooks up too! Thanks!!

Again...you'll get a wider (and deserved) audience if you temporarily park your songs where the jukebox can stream them!!!

Thanks for the nice comments, Roddy! You are too generous! :)

Hi Roddy, thank you for the very kind comments on "so many things" much appreciated. Look forward to hearing some of your songs.

Hi Roddy. Thank you, I'm looking forward to hearing your songs :)

It depends on where you are and how much money a centre has. I saw one in March at the Wellington Zoo but I'm not sure how many they have. I hadn't seen one before in their new enclosure, sometimes the enclosures make it difficult. I hope you enjoyed your trip to NZ, did you see any tuataras? I went to Scotland in autumn and loved it especially as the trees were all different colours!!

Your Mornington Crescent posts are awesome!

I'm disappointed to hear that you didn't see a kiwi, they are hard to see cause they are nocturnal creatures. Where did you try to see them?

I've not used it myself, although I know Kristian has put some of the tracks we did together up there. It certainly looks good - I'll check out your page. We're looking for a Myspace replacement, probably a choice between SoundCloud and Reverbnation.

Hi Roddy, hope you're doing well. I really appreciated your constructive comments last 50/90 and enjoyed your tunes, so looking forward to hearing more from you :-)

Hey Roddy,
Great to hear from you, I am looking forward to 50/90 and checking out your tunes.

And you Roddy.

Let the smithing begin!

Here we go again, eh Roddy?! Going to be a great summer. I can feel it now. Looking forward to hearing your jumping flea again.
