BIO:

I'm primarily a lyricist, although I'm taking a crash course in composing through this Very Helpful Site: http://chordmaps.com/

Music fascinates me, how it can tell a story, capture a moment or a mood, or take you on a journey. I like patterns, and find a certain satisfaction when something comes out 'neat'. This summer, I'm going to focus on learning about chords and melodic sequences, letting the lyrics take a back seat if possible. I'm in my comfort zone with words, much less so with composing, recording and performing.

Thanks for the comment on "things and memories". I intend on having an a capella demo at some point; I'll let you know. As I hear it, I see different verse rhythms but the same chorus melody (although it may sound happier at the end). Also, the horizontal dash, to me, is almost always an instrumental segue. And I don't think it's too long. Of course, I tend to do long songs, so my view on this isn't exactly impartial. Anyway, thanks for the comments, especially on some specific lines--I enjoyed writing some of those as well, and put some in for the same reasons you mention.

Thank you for the great suggestion on my lyric "Now That You've Got It, What Do You Do With It?" I have duly noted it and made a change! As we sometimes say, down here in Alabamy, "good lookin' out!"

Musically, I'm hoping for something with the feel that John Lennon got on "Instant Karma" and with a similar beat. Tall order, huh?
