BIO:

Phew! 1 October, and 43 songs done! (hopefully 44 when I hear back from someone I did a stealth-collab with!) A shame not to hit 50, but my original target was 30, so I'll not lose sleep.

Thanks everyone for all your comments and moral support. It's been amazing!

No probs, FAWM is fine

Hi Orinoco, thanks for the comments on my collab with Roddy. Let me know if you still want to have a go at my lyric "Mystery means nothing" :)

Cheers
Peter

Thanks for your very kind comments on "Looking at Waterfall." Nadia's piano playing is very inspiring and Val's vocal brings wonderful emotion to the song!

hah, i wish i'd learned it that quickly. i just overdubbed the vocs over your intro; the recording cuts off just as your vocs are about to come in ;P

Thank you so much Orinoco for your amazing comment on my collaboration with Kristi and Val on looking at Waterfall. It was so wonderful to see amazing lyrics by Kristi and hear fantastic vocals by Val. We have another demo for this song with Wolf's vocals and it is so great to hear how different and how both beautiful the demos are. If you get a chance please listen to Wolf's demo: http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/songs/11737

hi orinoco, in the case of Dishonety Box, the song is based on several minutes in the car park of my local supermarket. Some of the sections with the breaking bottles are overlapped, and the car park recording fades out gradually over the whole piece. I think the hum is a recording of being on deck on a ferry in the North Sea, which i took a few days earlier, and it fades in during the course of the track. And i think that's about it for that one.

wow... you got really close... congrats! And thanks for all the comments!!! :)

thanks so much for all the reading and lovely comments! i was surprised and delighted. Yes: 88 mph should definitely be done in with a huey lewis bent. GREAT suggestion! And i love that you thought 'he's nice and i'm hungry' could be about cannibalism too, ;) anthropophagy has definitely been in my subconscious lately. Congratulations on 44 songs! That is mindblowing. I can't wait to listen.

Wow.... lots of songs...cool... thanks for working with me again... a joy...David

Thanks for the music for "Dissatisfaction". It sounds great! The harmony in the chorus works well, and the chords fit the pessimistic mood without becoming dire and gloom-ridden. Nice work!

Yay we make awesome music! Thanks for a fun tune Geoff! Maybe we can do that again sometime :)

Ahh, great idea. I will check out many of your tunes too.

Howdy! Thanks for your awesome comments on 9 Days. Felt really good to get back to that synthy electronica style. I haven't focused much on it in a few years, but it was a nice return for that song. Glad you enjoyed it. Definitely made my day.

Hey Geoff :) Thanks for the comments and sorry for not following up on all your output.. something that I hope to rectify soon! SolarRainUK added a comment on the song which pretty much explains who did what where etc.; the bass is my beloved Moog Taurus 3 .. its a beast :D

Downloaded your album. Dude! That's good stuff. I'm enjoying it immensely. You're in heavy rotation on my iPod. :)

Thanks for the comment on my collab with Helen. Actually, we like the song so much we are planning on putting it on our upcoming album, so a full production will be in the works soon!

Oh absolutely, go for it! I haven't been much use as a collaborator this time around. Hopefully that will be different in February!

Thanks for reading! I'll hopefully tweak the lyrics up a bit before they get recorded so those few clunky lines should get smoothed out... There's still an offchance I'll get a recording done and posted before the end of the month, if I can shake this damned cold!

hahah you're on! I like prizes*! (whether real or imaginary :D )

Sweeeeeet :) I don't have much in the back of my mind at the moment... How about you? hahhaha #lazykiwa

Re: Jeremy Finch it's up to you. I'm interested to hear the different versions (@airbagtester's and @segers41's versions are really different), but if you'd rather collab on something else I'm cool with that :)

Hi Geoff, if you would like to have a go at Jeremy Finch I'd love to hear it! I think Eric (@airbagtester) might have something, but I personally don't have a problem with two versions... I've wanted to do a collab with you, so this would be fun!

Thanks for letting me know about SOS - it's fantastic!!
The time signature is really engaging, I'm listening at work and have to stop myself moving too much in time. I'm intrigued what it would sound like with the morse code backing, but what you have is... just... (I'm runnign out of appropriately positive superlatives to describe you and your music Geoff, seriously) stunning.

You! Second half of Jacqui and Geoff! Since I missed the opportunity to collab with Jacqui this 5090, do you think there's a chance I might be able to collab with you instead in the month we have remaining?

Thanks for the comments - really appreciated.

Hi thanks for the very kind comments on Tinam's, "My Toy Phone" it was a pleasure to work with such wonderful lyrics.

glad ya liked it! Think it came out sweet; your new vocal take was excellent!

Thanks for the comment on 'Pepper Fest'. Yes...I won't be able to have harmonies at the talent show which is sad. The fest is this weekend so after Friday night's contest I'll add a comment to the description to let you all know if I did well!

hey! I didn't quite know how to end the riot tune hehe.. so I err.. just cut it... I tried like an echo ending but it ended up being too cheesy.. I dunno.. maybe just end it with the sound of glass shattering or something :)

Hi Geoff,
I've not logged on for a week now, so I have only just heard it. It's really good, but then I know you could turn a shopping list into a good song. Great job.

Ha! I'd like to hear that. I love singing parts that should be on synth / guitar / bassoon.

Dude, that's amazing! It sounds fabulous. *beams* I am so impressed. Particularly like the little comeback at the end after the silence- it's quite lovely. Thank you so much for doin' it!

Ha, brilliant! My old washing machine used to sound EXACTLY like the start of Ghostbusters before everything kicks in.

Hi,
I saw that we were paired.
The muse being in the vicinity, I wrote a lyric from scratch, actually coming off a line in one of yours that mentioned lost and found
It's kinda a 1st draft tweaked a little. I can send it to you though
.I didn't see your E addy --mine is on my profile,if you want to E me, I'll send it back --mention 50/90 or something so it doesn't go to spam

Hi, I see you have already done quite a lot of collaborations. In the case you`re contemplating on a new one (or two), please, allow me to invite you to to have a look at some of my lyrics in the hope of an eventual collab if you find anything you could eventually use...
kind regards

Hi Orinoco, thanks very much for the comments. I would love it if you were able to do something with my lyric Mystery means nothing.

Thanks for comment on "Your Brand New Toy. . ." The first one is always the most exciting to read! Glad the drums work, still need lots of practice! I highly recommend the Nashville strings, just $5 bucks and opens up a whole new world!

sorted!

helloooo my man! I did indeed get the lyrics; I was actually playing around with them last night; not that I actually got anything done cause it was one of THOSE days... my problem was that I kept on alternating between the two; I like both sets of lyrics, so I had a hard time deciding on which to actually go for.. maybe you could just pick the one you like the best and we'll go for that first? hell, we can just do the other one afterwards :D hehehe

Dude, it's fine. Take your time! Hope real life settles down a bit for you soon... and thanks for letting me know :).

Hi Orinoco,
Looking forward to doing the collab. Yes, I only do lyrics. I will check out your songs first, as it will perhaps help to start the ball rolling. Then get back to you (hopefully tomorrow, Sat).

Hey, Geoff,
Sent you something by email....did you get it?

BH

I absolutely am in LOVE with all the acoustic stuff you do on "CAN OF WORMS". If thou ever wouldst collaborate.....I'm up for providing some lyrics to see what you come up with. Cheers!

Hi Geoff, thanks for the comment on Follow. Just letting you know the demo is up if you want to hear how I completely mangled the lyrics ;) http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/songs/7112

Look forward to hearin' it, orinoco-style! :D

Heyhey! I've been tryin' and failin' to music it up, so I would love to hand that over to you!

I'm glad you liked "scratches and scars". There will be a tune put up for it eventually (like the rest of my silly songs), I have to borrow equipment at the moment. That being said, the music portion of song is not my strong suit. QT

Thanks for listening to It's a Beautiful Day!

Thanks a lot for your amazing comments on "sunshine after rain" and "my punishment"... By the way, an extra-thanks for the suggestion in regard of the long title of the latter, you`re right, I changed it... Thank you!

Hi, and thanks for the nice comment on "Forever Young". I'm really pleased with alfalfa's arrangement!
