BIO:

Some of you know me already. I'm an airline pilot and a creative writing grad student entering my last semester to obtain an MFA this winter. I write stories and the lyrics to companion songs, then turn to you all, my musical genius friends, to write the music and record the finished tunes. I have dabbled on the music side as I love all forms of art. 10 songs I've co-written with FAWMers were published with my stories in issues of Airways, AOPA Flight Training, and TARPA Topics magazines.

I will be attending this August's FAWMstock and looking forward to meeting a bunch of you in person.

Let's make some more success together!

Cheers! MLB

Soundboard

Fellow Fawmers, I'm here to help you reach your 50/90 goals by providing lyrics. As usual, I'm writing stories to go with each song I co-write and working hard to see that the story and companion song get published somewhere. Looking forward to working with my FAWM friends and making new ones!
Cheers! Mark L Berry

Cool amigo. Check out Toast's and my latest collab "The secret the Darkness Concealed" Cheers! MLB

Howdy!

I just posted up a demo for "How crazy you make me." The liner notes explain what I did with your lyrics. Please add your commentary to the liner notes. Thanks for the lyrics!

Oh, and I haven't had a chance to sit down with "The Secret the Darkness Completely Concealed" but I envisioned it more in a country-death, murder-ballad kind of style. At least that was my feeling after my first read-through. It would make for kind of a long-form punk song... but I'll scrutinize it while listening to "Chainlink" and see. I just think it will work better with a more Americana feel. I'm thinking full-band arrangement though (get drums, bass, lap steel and 6-string guitar in there), not just guy and guitar (though that may be the first demo).

Cheers!

Hey Mark, thanks again for the book; I'm about halfway through now (they're at the toll booth in the Jeep) and really digging it. It's neat to read a book starring two fictional musicians instead of having them play second fiddle (sorry for the cheesy play on words :)

Cool. Let me know when you finish it. FAWMstock was a total blast. Cheers! MLB

Hi Mark,

One song from the album was posted because it was written during 50/90. The others wouldn't qualify and we wouldn't want to reveal everything prematurely :)

Thanks very much for the comments on Club 339...

Mark. Hey! Thanks for taking a little peek at my lyrics. I could probably post a fairly crappy demo of that song, but since it was a collab, I'd hate for for someone else to look bad with me. :)

Hey Mark, the bad thing about travel is I get way behind on my songwriting, the great thing is I get to catch up on my song listening and commenting :)

Allooo Mark! I will get to singing that. I will! :D

Hi Mark, thanks very much for the comments on the collab with Monty!! I'll look at the song...ma need to put new music to it...

Thank you very much Mark for your beautiful comments on my compositions :)

Same same...

Hi Mark. Looking forward to reading your lyrics.
Nadia :)
