I make music on my ukulele when my husband can't hear. I like to collaborate with people.

This is my second time here and my aim is for 25 songs. I'd like to use this experience and community to develop so constructive criticism/feedback is welcome on all my songs :)

I currently have 28 songs posted, there are 24 and a bit days left to go and all that's on my mind is can I, maybe, actually make it to 50?!
So, collabs are the order of the day. Possibly lower quality demos as I try not to spend too much time on an individual song because I'll be rushing at about 1 song a day...
I think I can make it. Would be nice I think.

Hi Kiwa,
We worked out so well on the goodby 50/90 tribute, thought you might want to look at my goodby FAWM tribute. I think I wrote it on the last day of FAWM, so it never got picked up by anyone... you could also make it your 1st 2012 FAWM song if you wanted to wait that long, or maybe as a rocktober song.

Hi Kahiwa, about Reverbnation. It's got a worldwide distribution and many thousands of users, and is quite easy to find your way around. I like following artists' "recommendations", you can spend all day going from artist to artist that way. A lot of very professional people use it and it has pretty sophisticated promotional tools - which mostly come at a price. If I wanted to make a step into becoming a professional musician it would definitely be the way to go.

It has limitations, though and one is that it's difficult to annotate individual songs - you can't add "liner notes" in the same way as with FAWM/5090. So I couldn't really attach a link to your site on the song itself. If I want to credit someone it has to be done in the title of the song, or on my profile descriptions. For example I'll call it "Regarding Kissing (by Paul Milne and Kahiwa Sabire)". I could also list collaborators and the songs they worked on, with fuller notes, in the description, and now that I've thought of that I'll go and do it. But those are some of its limitations.

It has social media widgets like status lines and comments and liking and messaging etc, but my sense (and I could be wrong) is that it's not used primarily as a social site but more as a promotional way of getting your music out there and listened to.

You practically sang what I had in my head. That rarely happens.
I really like your voice. I'd like to hear it brought out a bit more in the demo.
That could be done anytime though, if you're so inclined.

A song that far back tends to get overlooked, but I think it's too late for you to post it on your page cause that'd be a new song.

If you were serious about a monotone vocal... I was looking at some of my old stuff and BAM!! this one jumped right out at me, just because of the title, other than that it's a rather boring write. LOL

Mono-rhyme

My word vault has a lot of words, plenty that sound like rhyme.
I reach right in and grab a word, well looky here, it's time.
Some days my words get all mixed up, like one big alphabet slime.
But on other days, words flow with ease, a poet in their prime.

Words for the most part, gotta run free, just like a bell has to chime.
And once in a while two words join as one, like when "I am" turns into I'm.
So keep track your words, they can be sickly sweet or bitter as a lime.
And if words that you speak make you sound like a geek, then maybe you should be a mime.

And a story was told of a mighty challenge overcome.

Yes, it was a catchy chant, even without the final rhyme. With ukulele grasped firmly and a glint in her eye that was almost but not quite entirely unlike the shade of the late season sun shining against aluminum siding at an angle of approximately 32 degrees, Kiwafruit set off on the Path of Completion. What rewards await for those who walk the Path, only 11 people alive this day know, but everyone present knew that this number would soon swell by one, if an increase of one can be called swelling, and it will be swell, in any case.

And that is the story that was told, of the completion of 50 songs, all told.

Thanks for the comment! I'm not quite sure how to describe the rhythm of it (I'd record it, but I can't sing ;) ), but the first/third lines of each are slightly slower, with the 2nd/4th slightly faster. That's really not coming out right. But it's nice that you brought it up :)
