LOCATION:Dublin/Cork. Ireland
INFLUENCES:God only knows. Every bit of music I've ever heard has pry influenced me.

BIO:

A corkman currently living in Dublin. Rootscauseway turned me on to this. I'm hoping to use it to force myself to write lyrics, and be less focused on polish. My hope is that by song 25, I'll be less self-critical and that I'll just be able to throw stuff out without worrying too much.

Hi Kieran, really appreciate your comments (botched upload). Yes, and I wasn't sure so that really helped me out. I fixed it (I think). :-)

Hi Kieran, wow, thank you for such an amazing comment, I'm honoured you compared my little composition to this gorgeous music!

I'll look up Joanna Newsom, don't think I've heard her before. What you say about the language-learning process over there, I've heard from other sources, too. A man I was talking to in Ventry on the subject said the real problem was that the young people spoke English to one another, not Irish. He said that was the beginning of the death of the language. But we've seen Scots Gaelic (in Canada) come to the brink of extinction and fight back, via the young, so I have hope. We learn French much the same way you learn Irish. I can write an essay in it, but I get tongue-tied when I try to speak it.

""""Hi Wyatt, i put up the lyrics to that pagan song in the comments
"""""""""" thanks Kerian. I'll get back over and listen again. the words in a lot of songs just seem to blend in with the music too much for me to understand them very well

Ah, Dublin. I figured you must be Celtic at least. On my fathers side, we trace back to Wales--Lessee, Swansea region. I had the good fortune to work with an Irish singer songwriter from Wicklow a while back
Love Celtic stuff. He had the heavy brogue

Hi Keiran, thank you for the lovely comments on "i wrote a song for you" much appreciated.

Thanks for your comment about "Safe From Glass", Kieran. It's a sad tale indeed. While I was practising the rough a cappella demo, I often choked up on those last two lines in the chorus.

By the way, though I live in the Netherlands, I'm Canadian, hence the slightly Irish-sounding accent. (-:

i used to use a tape recorder and also an old four track that i didn't really know how to use..can barely use audacity and should know it better at this stage..a bit less hiss these days alright though..;;oh and i got a sony mic about a year ago.. gotta go for me afternoon schleep...twas an awful day on the bike..!

I was in Ireland for two weeks around Bealtaine this year, mainly in Munster. But I've been studying for more than 15 years - took it in university, learned Irish (Old, Middle, and Modern), and amassed a library of reference books. I rarely use it these days so I'm rusty beyond measure, but I got to practice a bit down in Ventry and up in Clifden. I've been a student of the music since I was a child, and it's been a huge influence on the way I compose.
