BIO:

Fifty-something, relatively new to music, but I like it. I like songs to be distracting in a happy, funny way if at all possible. No deathMetal here --- it's no great secret that life has a dark side; I want my songs to seek out the lighter side instead. Western music is all one big long song; it's a conceit to think that any new song is all that original. Just go with what pleases the ear. Yes, that same ear that was trained by all that old, boring stuff you're trying to beak away from. You are in a maze of little twisting passages, all the same.

I remember that joke - as my family hails from Kentucky, Hee Haw was a Sunday night ritual for us.

In fact, my band occasionally (request only) plays the "Gloom, Despair and Agony" song, and Lumpy the bass player makes up a sad story for the middle - last night, it was about how he had to get up in the middle of the night to deal with his dogs during a thunderstorm, while his wife, who doesn't work, slept in bed. I don't think he made that one up, Agony, indeed!
