BIO:

I am a singer who took up the ukulele about a year ago and suddenly found myself writing songs! I am furiously trying to build my uke skills and songwriting skills so this challenge is all about practice, practice, practice. I haven't collaborated on songs before but I would like to give it a go and see what comes out of it. I doubt that I will make it to 50 songs but I am aiming for 20 - deep breath, here I go!

UPDATE: One of my 50/90 songs, Superhero, has just been played on the Uke Hunt Podcast #10 - woot! I'm a little bit excited by that :)

Hi Jane, perceptive comment on "Regarding Kissing" - it was a result of extensive research! And Kahiwa has obviously got a feel for the subject as well!

I had put this down as something unlikely to ever be musicified, so it's immensely gratifying for it to be given the kahiwa treatment. Makes me want to go kiss someone right now!

Thanks for the love on I'm On My Way. I think the "heathens" were just being constructive, on Sunset Dreaming I think it was? The demo I sent blindkiwi had, shall we say, 'experimental' harmonies through it and there were some comments that they perhaps detracted from the main melody. I don't think I'd mixed it properly so they were a little loud, and a bit odd, so I can see where they're coming from. And they're probably right to a certain extent - not *every* single line needs 5 part harmonies ;)
You're doing pretty well for a lady with a lack of spare time! Woohoo!! We'll have to sort out some proper studio time somewhere and make nice recordings of these, you've definitely got some keepers there :)

You're from Brisbane and you don't mention the Go-Betweens... is everyone sick of them there? They're my favorite band (one or two days a week--there are others). Kind of neat to see the Cruel Sea too--they're almost unknown outside Aus.

I posted this on wyatt's page for "A Good Time to Die" without realizing it. Obviously, you sing it.:
I think it works well with the uke. Maybe it could doubled, played more loudly, or recoded with a compressor to give it a more percussive attack. Or have a guitar play the chords also. Another instrument sound I could imagine would be an accordion sound or a keyboard, since you kind of give it a bit of a French flair with your Edith Piaf-style singing in some parts. A really great collaboration and song.

Thanks for uploading "Good Day To Die" Jane. I guess I'd have got it eventually. but was getting frustrated-- When I get frustrated I say a lot of bad words--That's not a big deal but it interferes with my writing--THAT is a problem :)
As to someone adding drums and strings, I haven't anyone in mind right off,but plenty of good musicians on 50/90 all right
