***** MY HISTORY ************************************************
I played guitar (nylon strings) for 30 years - classical, ragtime, anything. I started playing covers in Second Life - to beat my stage fright. Seriously. And it worked to some degree, I can survive physically on a stage (a real one). I quickly added singing; I am not entirely satisfied with the sound of my own voice, but I think I can sing to a degree.

That was in the summer of 2009. A funny thing happened in spring 2010. I saw a text by someone on a forum, I snatched it, and turned it into a song in about an hour. I was flabbergasted. I had been pondering for a long time how you write music, and there it was. And there I was, just looking at it. It was crap, but it was complete. Not complete crap, mind you, but complete in the sense that you could not improve it.

And then the exact same thing happened a couple of weeks later (same author). Still crappy, but complete. Even though none of them were keepers it was a major break-through, and a thrill. I started studying songwriting seriously (even took a course).

And then to test myself I auditiioned for the Danish X Factor 2011. Remember my stage fright? I got three nays from the three judges, but the experience as a whole was OK.

Here is my view on song writing. It's a skill, or several subskills, and they can be trained. That is what we are doing in fawm & 5090.

I am really glad I did a lot of covers first.

Plural. I have some styles that fall naturally, and some that I would not think of attempting unless provoked or by chance. I think my list of influences will tell you what there is to say.
