Ah!!, There is still life here!! :)
(Response on "Batteries"

Thanks for listening to 6x8 and commenting!

Hello! Really sorry, I totally missed your response on my soundboard about that. I would still like to do it, although I'm taking a bit of a break from songwriting whilst I work out what to do with all of these songs. If I don't do it sooner, I'll do it for FAWM! Apologies again :-)

Hi. Thanks again for the comments this year. If you have a music facebook page... send it my way on http://www.facebook.com/danvaillancourtmusic. ;)

Thank you for your kind comment on He Had His Way With Me. ;) I'm so glad we managed to get it up just before the shades were drawn on 50/90.
It's downloadable now. I'd unticked the box because Calum will probably do more things to the song, but there's no reason it can't be downloaded in the meantime.

Howdy,
Well, I had 2 options for "Batteries..." and I went with the folky version instead of the lounge music version. I shall add a demo momentarily now that it's day 90 of 90. :)

Glad you apporve! :)

Not a kettle drum. It's a bass dolak. ;)

Hi Peter, thank you for the kind comments on this city life, the Jo Jo series is exacltly the environment I am writing about.

Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment on my "Funked". :)

I didn't get round to finishing it, but you're one of the people I've dedicated this one to! My last entry for this year. ;)

CONGRATULATIONS ON REACHING WINNER STATUS!

thanks for letting me know the link was broken to the song i did with Kathy.. link all fixed now, song at
http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/songs/10910

thanks!

Congrats on 52!
I have a couple half songs/collab demos I'm checking with the other person. Hoping to have time Thursday/Friday evenings and Saturday to finish and post them, so all going well with the internet I will have at least 50 songs posted come Saturday :D
Thanks for the help and support, it's invaluable :)

Peter, tghank you so much for your kind comments on "he can change" your time and consideration is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on smashing 50.

Thanks on Princess Of The Dawn---
""""low irish whistle or flute. A celtic folk style head tune"""""
Yeah,I hadn't thought of it but that'd work---Dang,I don't think I got a single Celtic collab on 50/90 this year.
I love the traditional Celtic music.
And congrats on hitting 50 if I didn't say that already

Thanks for you kind comment my collab, "Looking At Waterfall" with Nadia. We have a couple versions going on that were just posted.

Thanks for giving my "working" song a listen. Congratulations on hitting 52! I just read your forum posting on "made it" - I have one more to go to feel legit myself!

Thanks man! Prog rock isn't something I ever considered doing, but once DD got started I was a zombie walking to the light. I really dig his guitar work on this one. Glad I could muddle through.

Jeez! That's brilliant, what a compliment! I'm glad you thought the song good enough. Knock yourself out, it would be great to hear your version of any of my tunes, particularly sitting right in front of you with a nice beer in New Zealand!

Hi BK, thanks for the comment on Mari's "Spade and Seed". The CBG did us all proud on this one! And congrats on hitting 51...

And oh, hey, you won! Congratulations on passing the 50 barrier! What's the weather like on the other side there?

Thanks for the comment. Never been compared to Morrison before! I'll take it.

As I just explained on my song page, I'm not apologizing for my lyrics, just explaining how they came to be. I like 'em well enough. I'm wrestling with lyrics this summer (oh, summer's over, innit). I can't seem to write--or don't really feel honest writing, which amounts to the same thing--the kind of (faux-)sincere songwritery stuff that seems to be the implicit goal of a lot of people. But I don't really like it when people write "poetry" of the sort you find in teenagers journals, which I see a lot of here. So I'm trying to figure out what I *can* write. I guess I wrote what I wrote more as an exploration of that than an apology. You and Tina are two of my favorite lyricists here, here, and I value your feedback a lot--so don't think I'm being down on myself (I am, in innumerable ways, but not this one).

oops... http://flyingtadpole.com/5090fawm11/FATCHEN_I'm_regressing.mp3

No there wasn't any lyric rearrangement needed, just put up as a collab on this one, here's the current URL for the scratch piano recording. Vocals will have to wait till I'm back, about 10 Oct. Or you can sing it! fairly simple melody from the piano. http://flyingtadpole.com/fawm5090-2011/FATCHEN_I'm_regressing.mp3

Lets do "regressing" as a new post, as there's a bit of lyric re-arrangement from memory, but not till I've got something (today, tomorrow if it's going to happen).

:)

congrats in advance, you're about to get to 50!

the demo for 'class warfare' is posted, by the way... (since you wanted to know).

49! one to go (and I've realised I did write a tune for "I'm regressing"...I'd better find it...)

Now:
"the dangers of driving through Dimboola became legendary." LOL I've heard the same said about Bordertown and Keith from folks on this side
Piffle! Bordertown/Keith only responded in retaliation to the Dimboola cop. he was there first (1950s and 1960s)! Eventually SA gave up and put the speed limit between Bordertown and the border down to 100kph so we would all have time to acclimatise to the slower pace of life in Victoria.

Thanks for the compliment by the way: I'm trying to get that one published in its own write.

Wow, I Still Feel and timeless classic in the same sentence! I'm gonna bronze the computer screen!

So glad you like what Dawn and I added to your song with Nadia. It was our honor! Your lyric was amazing... You are nearly at 50. Well done!

thanks for the comments! glad you liked my songs, and glad you found them too ;)

Thanks for commenting on Then I Will - glad you liked it!

LOL B K-----I love the chorus as it is but I could almost see the latin phrase being part of the chorus as well
I had the phrase as the hook in the Chorus instead of my phrase but wasn't sure it was working , so just before I posted it, I took it out. However, I'll look at incorporating it as "Part" of the C. I hadn't thought about that.
Thanks

"""I would love to hear the whole song done sultry cabaret style"""" There ya' go B K!!
I may incorporate that into the tags or liner notes in case there are any sultry voiced women around

Thanks for your kind comments on If I Could Do Anything. That's a great idea about repeating the, do what I want/should, lines at the end there!

Thanks for the comment! No need to feel bad! The song has nothing to do with me right now. I just needed to write something. Half of it is just fragments of other songs I started put together!

Thanks on the 50 B K. Actually, I owe it about 3 more for a few that didn't really qualify, but I've got at least 2 more in the formative stage.
You're within striking distance yourself
As far as more musication, got at least a couple more in the possible section. I already have more than I ever figured on

Hey, thank YOU for letting me work on the song - a good lyric tells you where it wants to go, I think. I just followed it.

It's a really good somg, I think!

Thanks for your comment on my song, and good luck with the remaining weeks. You're doing great!

Thanks Peter for the kind comments on my collab with Nadia and rittmo (Today and Everyday).
Needless to say, or rather, been said before, they are fantastic to team up with. Looking to
get into your songs too. New Zealand must be a lovely place to hang your hat!

Sehr gut! :)

Hi,

Sorry you've had to wait so long, but I've just now uploaded a demo for 'Night Light', if you're still interested. :)

Hope you enjoy it,

Shady

Thanks for listening to It Is No Picnic Without You and commenting. It gave me a chance to hear some of your stuff. It amazes me how you can listen to so much work on this forum and still miss someone. the guitar in my song is Band In A Box.
