Giving up this fight, c u later in another music life.....

Aw man..what made ya throw in the towell????

i was wondering when you were going to point out my vocals being way loud. ha.. that was me being lazy...Instead of rerecording the parts where i was low, i just hard limited my verse...lol..I do plan to fix it...and thanks for pointing out the string synth level; I shall work with it.

And btw, for me, 5090 is all about critiquing my mix. So knock yourself out.

thanks

For the rest of 50/90, I've decided to concentrate my efforts on an upcoming rap ep. Switching genres, stay tuned. I have more "serious" rap ideas brewing (as opposed the humour one I posted). Although they are still for mature audiences only.

Why oh why haven't I listened to any of these songs? Thanks for your comments and know that I'll be back. Incidentally, we're talking about hosting FAWMstock in the area next year around this time. Should be a blast.

I put a new version of the song up... I went back and listen and think that the vocal effects were a little wonky. I think was a nice way of telling me that. haha...

Thanks for the comment on 'Learn to Let it Go.' I was just messing around with vocal effects when I was mixing and I did a double of the chorus vox too... not to mention when I sing louder my vox comes through the instrument mic creating an interesting ummm "effect." I'm always a wee bit pitchy.. haha... Do you think I should just have a straighter clean sounding vox or do you think the effect works for the song?

Rob R, the host of the radio show Acoustic Cafe said he thought I sounded like a young Todd Snider a few years ago. I'm not super familiar with his work but like the songs I've heard... he has a great sense of irony and humor.

sweet..thanks for the heads up..I'll check the mix after work today and possibly adjust it....see what constructive feedback accomplishes? good thing you werent scared to offend me..lol

I mix with flat eq, no sub, .. try listening to just the intro and see if you can hear the bass riff

re: name in lights- more bass as in percussion bass or rhythm bass? there's a live bass track on it but its not terribly high in the mix so that it doesnt get muddy with the kicks

Wow, that was really fast, David! Thanks a lot for the fantastic music! Love also the changes you made, especially the use of "tree" instead of "folder" in the chorus, much better! Great, thanks once again so much! Please, whenever you like and whenever anything strikes you again, feel free to get back on my lyrics.

Hi, should you ever contemplate on a lyrics-based collab I`d love to invite you to check out some of my lyrics...
kind regards

Aw, thanks for the comment on "Walking Away from Summer." I really appreciate the encouragement (:

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, Focus In was self indulgent guitar noodling - I totally accept it's a little too long but hey, I enjoyed playing it! :-)

Glad to see you on here, I didn't spot you before! I'll take a listen to some of your stuff soon, welcome back to the party!

Thanks David for the comment on Pico De Gallo Girl! I've been told I make a good salsa too. ;)

David,
I listened to every one of your tunes and I'm really impressed. Lyrics cut through like a rapier and you manage to get a big guitar footprint in them, too. That's what I go for. Consider me a fan!

Thanks for listening to my first tune! Best of luck in your 50/90 endeavors!

Thanks for your comment on Panniophobia. Now that you mention it, it probably does need a bit more variation in the melody. I'll keep that in mind for next time :)

Hi David, thanks so much for the nice comment on Poppies - and I'd have to agree that it's probably at too slow a tempo - I'd thought that myself listening back to it, so well spotted!

Welcome back!

Look at that, it's the real you. Happy to see you here!
