BIO:

I'm a guy with a job who writes and plays music in his spare time. I'm one half of The Really Good Pot Roast, a band currently working on it's second album. I've been playing music sice I started piano lessons at age 5.

The Really Good Pot Roast (my band with JonnieGrunge) released it's first album, 'Serious as a Heart Attack'! on September 1st, 2010. A couple of the tunes were written right here for 50/90 last year! We are available on iTunes and Amazon MP3.

Our band now has a blog. Come read our ramblings and listen to more of our music.
http://thereallygoodpotroast.tumblr.com

Here's a link to our music on iTunes US: http://bit.ly/a4QhdB

We're selling this one instead of giving it away because all proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.

I'm also serving as a producer on JonnieGrunge's solo EP, which should come out just before 50/90 starts. It will feature some songs he wrote during last year’s 50/90, reworked, remixed, and revised.

Hope you check it out!

Soundboard

This is my soundboard. Consider yourself introduced.

Thank you so much for your beautiful comment on my collaboration with Kristi and Val on Love you back. So happy you like our song :)

Congratulations on winning! Hope you are enjoying a nice Sunday.
You've posted a beautiful comment on Kristi's lyric and our demo with Val is posted now. If you get a chance to listen, it's here: http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/songs/10017

thanks for the compliments on channeling charlie :) i was really inspired by cold comfort's lyrics! >:) congrats on reaching the 50!

CONGRATULATIONS ON REACHING WINNER STATUS!

Also, thank you for letting me know more about the history of Road Island... I didn't know how it got its name.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful and kind comments on my collabs!!! It made me happy to hear that you liked them :)

Thanks very much for your comments on "the lifeboat". Much appreciated!!

Hiya Fender :) Thanks for listening and commenting on Inner Voices!

hey, thanks for the comment on "watch out"! glad you liked it :)

I'm sure every song I've clicked on to listen this evening you've been there first and left a comment. Either I'm inadvertently stalking you, or you have commented on EVERY SONG this 5090 ;-)

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the feedback on "Open Uke/No fleas on my dog". The 'no fleas on my dog' reference is because when you play the strings on a uke top to bottom with no chord (G' C E' A') you sing "My dog has fleas" ... for some reason... I'm not sure. So, I figured because I play the strings open at the beginning, it's kinda like that but not... If that makes any sense lol

Hi thanks for the comment about my Another Side CD, i'm very glad it's successfully hitting the mark. :-)

Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment on Jesus Said It Would Be Okay.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my songs! They made me smile :)

thanks- thats great- cd baby is a great site!

thanks for downloading 'ship of state'! and your kind words about it!
just curious, which site did you d/l it from? (there's a few- amazon, cd baby iTunes, etc)

-mike

I appreciate the feedback on "Time Waster." It prompted me to listen to it again and for some reason I like it more now than I did before.

Hi Fendertele! Thanks for listening and commenting on the Soldier's Farewell. It's one of those "recorded at 2am" songs where I'm never quite sure whether what I've done works - so I am glad to hear that it does! :)

Thanks very much for your comments on "Saturday Night". Very much appreciated.

Thanks so much for your kind words on 'Rain'. I have to admit, that it my favourite line too ^.^

Thanks for giving "Andrew" a listen. Yes, the "below sea level" certainly needed to be repeated! :-)

I've been on vacation so a bit slow in getting back but thanks for the kind comments on my food song.

Thanks for listening and for the comments! The "math rock" thing was my trying to write in 3/4 and 4/4, switching back and forth in a genre that is usually 4/4.

Thank you very much for your comments!

Awww, you guys! *blush* Don't worry, plenty of punch left in the bowl (I think!) Thank you for the lovely lovely feedback on The Lark, Superhero, In My Town and 60 Butterflies Fender - veru much appreciated. I still have plans to re-record In My Town and the vocals for 60 Butterflies once I get rid of this cold/flu thing that has been plagueing me the last couple of weeks - not really satisfied with them at the moment. :)

I agree, Jane is a phenom! Thanks for the comment.

heya... the newest podcast as just been uploaded an hour or two ago.. you *should* be able to find it here:
http://5090podcast.blogspot.com/2011/08/tc-takes-charge-5090-podcast-2.html

thanks for stopping by! I'll repay the favour; you're already on my watchlist :)

thanks a bunch for all those comments

thanks for the comment on "sometimes". definitely, my lyrics become more succinct the later it is at night, while my comments and liner notes become more meandering and rambling. go figure. and yes, it was intended for a solo acoustic guitar--it's a very introspective piece.

Also FYI, MIDI Guitar: http://www.yourockguitar.com/

Thanks for the comments. I've got both DFH and Metalheads for EZDrummer. In general, I like the Metalheads sounds more, and the MIDI selection that it comes with is pretty cool too. (More song oriented.) Is it worth the money? Probably not, unless you're doing a LOT of metal. But if I were buying from scratch, I'd get Metalheads first.

Thanks for your comments on my Go! Train and THFX No. 2! :D
Glad you like what you hear: it really means a lot to me. :)

kudos on the harp for sam and downburst(Can't Complain)

Nice!

Hey Fender! Thanks for the harmonica solo - I love it! Really fits Rod's music, great job :)

Thank you very, very much for your kind comments!! I was very glad to read them!!

Thanks so much for kind comment on "Set You Free!" :)

Howdy! Check this song out by L. H. Cisco: http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/songs/7573. This guy has a great voice and style.

So why haven't I been listening? My loss. Thank you too for the comments.

Oh, do you? I'm surprised anyone's kept that. :P It's actually a pretty funky riff, but I haven't developed it further for a couple of reasons: 1 - it reminds me far too much of 'Hey Bulldog' by the Beatles, and ripping off the Beatles is hardly a way to make a music career; 2 - I've struggled writing more verses. But I'll see if I can come back to it.
Thanks for the comments, I'll listen to some of your stuff tonight!

Thanks so much for comments on a couple of my songs. Glad you liked them! ;)

Thank you for the kind comment, FT71! Wow, you have a lot of stuff done. I've some listening to do. :)

Actually, I had some unexpected time tonight (band practice cancelled), and I knocked it out. Still need to be mixed, which I'll do tomorrow or Friday. Send me an email @ dasbinky@dasbinky.com and I'll send you a rough mix for comment.

I'd be happy to put something together for Field Trip, but it may be a few days before I can get to it. (Real life intervenes more than I'd like.). Got a nice feel for where I'd go with it.
I'll drop you a line as soon as I can hit it.

Awesome! Glad yoy like the lyrics. Take your time. Real life has a way of getting in the way sometimes.

Thankyou for your comments, especially on Ready Set Go, I've updated it now without the doubled vocals. I think it does work better now.

Thank you so much for your nice comment on Feeling sad today :)

hey thanks for that...its a melodica... trying to listen to yer tunes but my internet is as slow as hell....its a pure balls...

Thanks so much for checking my album!

Dude, you're officially the first person ever to pay for a download of my music. Thanks, that made my day. :-D

thanks for the feedback! it was really fun to do a lite piece like that and just play with harmony and layers ;)...can't to hear more of your stuff as well! :)
